Hello RollaClub! I'm Danny from Southern California, I've been lurking around the site for the past few months now and finally decided to join. I have a 1979 KE30 coupe, that I purchased November of last year. So far its been a blast to drive and have been slowly getting it together since. I'm hoping with the help of RollaClub and a little elbow grease I can accomplish better performance and make it look more appealing. ;)

Hi! Thought it's time I should throw up a little project tag for my 74 ke26 over here in New Zealand. I have always had some kind of old school project on the go/in the garage for the better part of the last 20 years, the better ones have been a very tidy bone stock 72 lancer, super tidy stock ke30 (wish I had kept both of) datsun 1200 sedan, 2 datsun 1200 2 door wagons, datsun 240c wagon and a AE86 (300bhp 4agte). Also had a some minis and a beater mk1 escort. Anyhow, long story short, I brought a house a few years back with a tiny garage that would not fit the datsun 240c, so I made the pain staking decision to part with the low, slow weekend cruiser and get…

Well long story short. I was driving around in my QNC21 Toyota bB import and decided I want to get back into a KE corolla. So I found a KE11 rusted to hell and back in a back yard cheap. Bought it restored it (well cut out rust) drove it daily loved it. But decided I want something a tad newer for the daily since I had a KE15 sprinter and not a corolla. Well I went looking for something A) Cheap, B) Fairly easy on the service and reliable C)Bland D) didn't care what it was. So I started looking around Camry, i20, subis anything.....Till I stumbled upon THIS car. It is a 2005 Toyota Sportivo with 160,000km on it. Factory serviced till 120,000Km and smelt like a really …

So.... I picked up this old girl a couple days ago, 1984 KE70, 90,000km on the clock with a years rego for $500! She's pretty tidy but didn't make the 2 hour drive home without breaking down hah. She hasn't been driven in well over six months because grandma died and the family didn't want to touch her. Basically from what I can gather she just needs a new thermostat and battery at this stage and I need to figure out why shes idling so low despite winding it up so until I figure that out I'm neutral d-dropping from sets of lights haha.. SO MUCH LOVE! (And yes, I am female for those of you wondering)

Recently aquired this gem from albury nsw sight unseen and drove it all the way home (ballarat Victoria) without it skipping a beat and went about getting it up to road worthy spec and making it my own. And then after getting it road worthy fitted some reset leafs I had acquired and some choppies till I get my corona struts sorted and chucked on a set of ssr formula stars I had holding up my ke25 Next on the list of things to do is swap out the terrible standard vinyl seats for some velour ma61 items and mod the sump on this sucker and chuck her in

I ended up with another project car. It is a 1975 (pre-smog for CA) TE38 E5. I bought it cheap. I drive 300+ miles to see the car. The ad said "Runs Good". I got there and he said it hasn't been driven for 7 years and he had just got it started. He had owned the car for a long time. It served as a first car for all 3 of his kids. I checked it over, bought it, did some minor engine work, and drove it 324 miles home with no issues. The car drives well, but an engine rebuild is needed. It has low power due to compression. It's ugly as sin. The pictures make it look better than it actually is.

Hey Everyone, Figured I would start a build thread, considering it has turned into more of a build than just a buy and drive. So I've already started a thread which a few of you have already thankfully helped me with, but I believe starting this thread (WITH PICS!) will be a more suitable place for everything. This is how I bought it, As some of you had seen the ads you will recognize these photos. Seller informed me all it would need was the water pump put on, tail shaft installed, gearbox oil put in, and a radiator and hoses. After it got delivered i promptly got it up on stands and started on the small list to finish her off. And that's whe…

Hey guys I'm new to the forums! Glad to be with such an awesome community. I want to introduce you guys to my first project car a 1983 Toyota Corolla. It is bone stock inside and out running the 4AC motor with a manual transmission. I will be posting the videos on the on going restoration in the near future. I will also be modding it so if you want to come along for the ride make sure you visit my channel or stay tuned on this thread! If you guys have any questions at all about the car feel fre…

Against my better judgement I bought this twincam. Been looking for a nice one for months but I couldnt find one here in Brisbane. I was sold on the fact that it had all its A/C gear even though its not working. Also ive seen a few lately and all needed work. After getting it home and up on car stands I realized that it was totally rooted and that I should get rid of it asap. I already have a KE30 project. My AE101 daily is getting old but Its still rego'd so after thinking it over for some time I decided to keep the AE82 and fix it. I'm hoping to get it back to pretty much stock but lowered with nice wheels and suspension improvements. I want to paint my KE30. Ill paint …

Hey Guys, have been on this site for ages but lost my old login. Anyway, thought I'd might as well contribute and post up something about my Rollas. I had an AE82 twinky hatch for about 5 years as a daily. Loved it, but it was pretty rough. Look good from afar, but was far from good. Anyway, time came that I needed a new daily driver, and for cheap. I had intended on dragging the old twinky from mum and dads backyard. I figured that it would at least need 4 new tyres and 4 shocks. So I was up for at least a grand to get it back on the road. But then, searching gumtree I found another. Exactly the same model, but about 100,000 ks younger. Plus it had power-stee…

New thread. Car looks like this now. So I put an AE93 speedo into my KE70 cluster for the speed sensor mainly to get rid of the CEL. Turns out when I drilled into it to mount it I drilled through the speed sensor connection. D'oh. Fixed, improved and re-installed. The clock has been replaced with a voltmeter and the charge light is no my CEL. I removed the trip meter mechanism to fit the speedo but I think I could make it fit. If I can find another cheap 93 cluster Ill do it at a later stage along with a new perspex screen. Next plan is to install the 9000rpm tacho.

Made my first ever purchase of an oldschool rwd Toyota about a year ago with the intentions of restoring her and possibly making some money on it. Few rust patches (turned out to be ALOT worse), loads of gay leds/supercheap auto crap but heres the spec list: Engine: - 1300cc 4K - heat wrapped extractors - Some querky barely attached mushroom filter setup - Eagle 8.0mm ignition leads - New Carb that needs tuning - New points, condenser & dizzy cap - Came with free oil leaks from dizzy o-ring that felt like rock and from an invisible sump washer :/ - Custom fitted R33 strut brace - Somewhat custom 2"ish exhaust, one Coby resonato…

So, this topic may be a touch premature, but I'm quite content with getting ahead of myself with this. I'm currently chatting to a guy who owns a 1979 Toyota RT130 Corona Liftback with the 18R engine and a 5 speed box. He is selling it due to having a few too many cars about. So, I'm going to go look at it tomorrow and if she's even half decent at the price he's asking, I think I'm going to sell my Festiva and jump on this deal. Now, I don't know a lot about the old Coronas besides the fact that the sedans were fitted with the miserable 1X aka missfire. But, seems as I won't be copping that boat anchor, I'm very excited to become the owner of a liftback Corona. …

Hi all. Picked up this KE70 from a mate recently to get onto the track with. I was 3/4 of the way through prepping a VT commodore for circuit duties but the costs were starting to get hefty. I planned on converting all the suspension arms on that to rose joint and costs were just blowing out, even with DIY every thing. Only so many hours in the day too Over a few drinks at said mates work shop n spied this in the corner neglected as he had just bought a fully prepped KE70 LS1 powered drift car.

Well, this is my ke70. It had already been converted to 2 door before I purchased it. I bought it as a rolling shell and was going to put a 4age in it and as a short term project to get her on the track quickly, but things have changed and it has turned into a much bigger project.

G'Day Rollas, This is my introduction and entry for my KE70 code name 'Swift'. This baby is my first car and I absolutely love her! The car has been in our family for 30 years, most of which it's been in a garage for 20 of them and is still in pretty much perfect condition. I have done some work on the car since I have received it. I'm not very good with cars but I think this car is the perfect to start to learning on. I'll be using this thread as my way of tracking and logging my progress. As of right now the current upgrading and modifications I'm looking at are.. Upgrade the stock sound system, Hopefully install sub and amp too. Replace tachometer from KE70…

Since powercruise last month i have been working on my other corolla, decided to get it going and have it as my work car for awhile. Ive had this car probably 8 years, it was a flawless body when i got it, not long after i gave it a bare metal 2 pack respray, then drove it to work for a few years. I cooked it on the way home one day, so i parked it up for probably the last 5 years. Last year i decided to put one of my spare sr20's in it, but after doing most of the needed mods the idea just didnt feel right, so i abandoned that idea and left it until now. So this is where I'm at, factory 4k 1300cc, 5 speed box, standard everything. The first t…

hey as some of you already know that i had a ke70 with a 4agze then got a ke20 with worked 4k in it, selling my ke20 was the biggest regret i had so from that point i always wanted to get another one so now I'm back in the rolla scene with a fleet of cars. so i started by finding a ke20 on gumtree, car was in pretty bad condition and missing a lot of parts. it was mid way though a ca18det conversion when i snapped it up as i said she was had a ca18det and rb20 gearbox in it before i got it so was left with cut tunnel :S first thing was to do is weld a tunnel in so after hours with the welder the whole was filled, i planed to put a 4k in so next i fitted a…

Well I saw a deal that I couldn't pass. My wife spotted a 1974 corolla on Craigslist and the posting was recent. Due to how hard these are to find, I jumped on it and called the guy. It was in a tow yard, and had been sitting there for 8-10 years. It was stored indoors for most the time. I told the guy I wanted it and would see him in driving time (3 1/2 hours). The seller had pulled the tank, dumped the old gas, cleaned and put about 2 gallons of new gas in it. He charged the battery that was in it, and it fired right up. It had a very high idle and some hesitation. It even has AC! It blew cold after about a min. I bought the car and he delivered it using his AAA tow car…

Hello guys! I bring you a 1974 KE20 2 door sedan all the way from Pakistan. My dad bought one of these (a four door) when I was in school but we had to sell it after a few years. Then my school buddy's dad also got one of these 2 door ones. Well at some point during that time I knew I had to get one of these. So here I was a few months back getting my daily ride checked by a mechanic and I saw this car standing a few garages away. I stopped and asked whose it was, and found out it belonged to a mechanic working there. I immediately asked if he wanted to sell, and he agreed if the the price would be right. So after bargaining for a little while we agreed upon Rs 180,000 ($…

hey there fellow rollaclubbers. during a trip to the in laws place a few months back I decided to take a different route than usual. as we were driving down a small street I noticed a little white wagon sitting in a backyard just out of sight. after pulling up and reversing a bit I noticed it was an AE95. it had been sitting for a while from what I could see so I thought there is no harm in asking. turns out it had become one of those jobs that slowly got pushed further and further down the to do list, as it had a blown head gasket. after a chat with the owner and exchanging phone numbers, 2 weeks later I picked it up for $500 and now resides at my mates place getting th…

Hey Guys It's time for me to start a thread for the build of my 74 KE25. I have been a member for a little while and have done a lot research and have been thoroughly inspired, impressed (and depressed ha ha) by a lot of peoples mad skills with welders, engines, fabrication etc, spacious garages, knack for rare parts sourcing and seemingly infinite time and $$ for their rollas. My first car was a 1975 KE25 SR coupe and I loved it!! She was stripped in a weekend and thoroughly bogged (in places she shouldn't have been ha ha - fender reconstruction) and I sold my motorbike to paint her.....a stoked 15 yr old and his first wheels. I kept it for around …
