Gents, The gentlemen I bought it off is a shade under 60, and bought the car brand new, off the showroom floor back in 1983. It has been garaged all its life, and driven to and from the shops. It has 200,000kms which works out to be around 6800kms a year! Comes with original log books, and a full service history. It has had a bit of rust in the past, but the gentlemen I am purchasing off actually took it to a shop, got the rust cut out, and new metal welded in. New thread. Car looks like this now. So I put an AE93 speedo into my KE70 cluster for the speed sensor mainly to get rid of the CEL. Turns out when I drilled into it to mount it I drilled through the speed sensor connection. D'oh. Fixed, improved and re-installed. The clock has been replaced with a voltmeter and the charge light is no my CEL. I removed the trip meter mechanism to fit the speedo but I think I could make it fit. If I can find another cheap 93 cluster Ill do it at a later stage along with a new perspex screen. Next plan is to install the 9000rpm tacho.

This in a story of an classic Rally sprint racer called "Flame". In previous owner it had 16v 4A-G (201hv@engine. DIN), 5speed T50 modified closeratio dogbox, dana30 rear end with 5.38 ratio and lsd, bilstain front shocks and proflex at rear. I had opportunity to participate in one competition event at tarmac. And loved the car so much, that when the previous owner decided to move complete technics in AE86 body, i was forced to buy the rest of it :jamie: In couple weeks i'm going to get the body home. Hey all, I was at Vic Roads the other day registering my new engine number and came across some older bloke that was admiring my rolla. He told me that his neighbour on a farm had a KE20 that was gonna get taken away by a wreckers. I went to take a look at this car and couldnt bare to see it stripped or turned into a VB can so i bought it lol. Now it needs heaps of work done. Okay, so about a month ago i aquired a KE50. I pormised that it would go to a good home and since then i have make up my mind about what i am going to do with it. I have decided that i will be restoring it. Thankfully the previous owners had tracked down and already wrecked another KE50 which i accepted the parts. Went to the local council abandoned vehicle auctions the other day. It was raining fairly hard, and the auction itself is held outdoors, so only myself and two other people bothered to show up. (and they were more interested in an old tractor) Bonnet latch was stuck... council guys didn't even bother to pop it. Oh if they had.... hey guys, i thought it was about time i told you all about my car, it is my first road car (i have had a few parts cars and one for khana) its a '79 ke55 hardtop. i have had it for about 12 months and in that time its received a PHAT 2" zorst with one muffler so its reasonably loud, its got ta23 celica struts and brakes so it stops... yay and its also got some 13x6.5 spitfires. Just thought I'd start a thread here rather than updating in the KE20 members section. If you look in that thread you will see photo's of were I'm up to. Basically 1974 KE20 4age, T50 box, Lancer diff and painted in Blood orange 2pack. The bodyshell, door and boot jambs, engine bay and underside have all been painted. In the engine bay we tried to hide as much as possible, as I wanted the bay to be very smooth and clean. The driveline is all in and the car is at my mechanic getting wired up and a few other things done. I painted the bootlid last week, so it is ready to be fitted. I acquired this MS85 Crown a few weeks back and plan to get it on the road and enjoy it. Here are some pics that were supplied before I looked at it - Since I got it I have managed to get it running. Righto, joining the KE70 club as of tonight :D Just bough myself a bone stock KE70 Sedan that's in very good condition but a few things that need to be attended too. Is meant to be a project car and I'm also gonna drive it during wintertime this year when its snowy and slippery, so the 4K-C should keep up :P Might end up putting a 4A-GE into it cause that would be a lot of fun but I'm not sure i can handle all the technical stuff that comes with that yet.

So I picked up a 1983 KE70 last week. I had been thinking about getting a car again, never had a Toyota, had quite a few old Mazdas and a couple of Datsuns. The short version…… Well it all started when the tailgater that had been following us just about all over town pushed Rolln03 just that little bit too hard… One screaming 4k and a lesson to the tailgater taught (smokescreen…well almost) we were left with fried piston rings and a blown head gasket.
