hey guys, this is my project 83 ae71.. i had a thread a while ago but decided to have it deleted and start again fresh... i bought the car on the 21 june 2015 and it didnt really do much for a few months, until i found some motivation to make it cool.. This is what it looked like the day i bought it .. white, slant front, unhealthy smallport 4age with downdraft weber (weird but cool), some steelies and mostly standard suspension, interior wasnt great and either was the exterior..

Hi all, This is my first post and I'm kinda new around here but I thought I'd start documenting my 1981 Toyota Corolla Ke70 build and everything else that comes along with it :wasted: So i bought my little poo brown corolla about a month or two down in Gosford (I live in Sydney) with around 69XXX genuine kms on it off some dude looking like dis, high in the air, but on stock steelies: It was in pretty good condition bar a few dings, had close to no rust, deep dish steering wheel, new alloy radiator and started and ran! Had a pretty dodgy drive back home as the thing pretty much didnt have brakes  I wish I took photos of them but it was metal on me…

To start this off this is my first thread go easy on me haha. My names Jacob and I'm 18 This is My 1983 toyota corolla wagon which I brought for $1000 with rego. I got it a few weeks back and have loved every second of it. It was a 2 owner car both being elderly people. The first owner of the car looked after it very well. It has new parts throught it. The second owner who was best freinds with the original owner has had it for six years and continued to look after it. I don't plan on doing any major mods to this car as I want to keep it clean as a tribute to the original owner who has sadly passed. It's a stock 4k and k40. I'm just going to maintain it and clean up a few…

Hi. This is my 1982 Toyota Corolla ke70. I have had it for almost one year or so now, and i'm thinking about getting some more power out of it. I have not made some super plans for it quite yet, but hopefully I it is ready for "Gatebil Våler" 2015. "Gatebil" is a trackday/track event in Norway (where I come from) Here is a pic of how the car looks like today, it is preshly painted in it's orginal colour. It also have some lowering springs. So this weekend I started with the raer axle. I got a Volvo 240 axle for free from a buddy of mine, and it fits quite perfect. It is alot of work, but i think it is worth it, because i'm planning t…

Imgur album: Figure I'll put a thread up here since i've lurked here for so long xD. This is to be my daily driver and is scheduled to be back on the road this arvo (pumped). I purchased myself an ae71 off boostcruising (lol) about 6 months ago. Just got rego yesterday, but broke down with fuel issues on the way home (filled up the tank for the first time in who knows how many years, stirred up shit in the tank that shouldn't have been stirred up). Leaving that to the mechanic because I really can't be ʞ©$ɟed xD. Recent pics: Semi recent pics: With these: Came with: - 4ac 5spd with a weber downdraft, ʞ©$ɟed radiator - cut falcon sprin…

Hey All Picked up a stock as a rock AE71 csx in silver (little bit of surface rust which I am sanding back and killing slowly) she has 200k on the clock and is stupid clean apart from a few scrapes. Got it to teach my GF to drive in and for something to tinker on. Had a KE70 in my late teens that was full of rust (only cost me a 12pack of beer though haha) Haven't had a 4AC since my 88 corolla hatchback (ae92) think you call them seca's over here. Just getting it ready for a rwc atm Things to do are replace a cracked steering boot and the drivers seatbelt (new boots on the way and I have a spare belt, will send the orginal one to be refurbished) Ha…

Hey Rollaclub! This is my first go at building a track car, it's an auto KE70 that I bought from redae71(thanks Luke!). I plan to do the standard 4AGE swap, get the car reasonably light, and sort out some decent suspension. Oh and quadlights! So I got the car about a week ago and drove it home on an unregistered vehicle permit. It seemed to drive nicely, though the right hand upper spring seat was fouling on the adjustable camber plates due to too much camber, and causing the spring to twist on the strut when I turned. But other than that it was fine. When I got the car(minus the wheels): What I'm going to put in it: What I'm going to do it wi…

Hey everyone, though id do a build thread of my ke project, maybe get some advice along the way and get more involved in the community Building it for drift use only, not engineering it for roadworthy purposes Bought it fairly stock, had an s13 front suspension and coilovers and that was it First thing i did was remove the diff centre to weld, got it all welded up but unfortuantly broke on of the spacers between the diff bearing and the housing trying to get it back in Had a real hard time trying to find one to replace it, decided to buy a mates vl commodore that was in a front end crash for $100 for the read end, got the mounts welded onto it and went i…

Hello everyone, new to this site, old to Corolla's Where should I begin....... I guess it all started about six years ago; I was thinking about which way I wanted to go with my TE72 project. I kept dreaming of a 4A-GE swap (just like everyone else). Suddenly, like lighting striking my brain, it came to me! I’ll swap in a 5M-GE from an early 80’s Supra. I started doing some research to make sure it was possible to stick the inline 6 under the hood. I managed to find two blurry photos of 7M-GTE’s in TE72’s. That was more than enough proof for me. First I needed to find a running supra to swap the parts from. I searched and searched, but was always disappointed, b…

More than one year ago, I've bought a Ke70 1980 the one with quadlights. I have in mind a complete factory restoration, a clean look with maybe some lowering and small details as an extra. Nothing special. Where I live, in Malta Europe, it's very hard to find parts and stuff. Infact I have struggled a lot to find parts I have today. One things I'm looking for at the moment and can't really find is the chrome trims. The ones that are on each of the four doors at the bottom of the window and also at the back of the rear doors, the same trims that the '82 GL models/versions used to come out with. Can anyone help me on this? I really appreciate your furthe…

Hello all, I've been lurking around these forums on and off for some time so I thought i would post my KE. Bought it last year for $300 and told the head could not be removed after crapping the head gasket (lies!). I've worked on it sparingly since (uni and work is getting in the way nicely) and have just dumped a few hundred on a press, bushings and ball joints. Plan is to have a solid platform for a better engine in a few years when I am not so broke. I bought an OK replacement engine for cheap so the 4k stays, but is going to get a single weber and extractors. Never really done this sort of work to a car before, last car I had I only did oil changes etc. …

Hey guys I've just bought a pretty straight stock 82 ke70 xx. Apart from the general fixing up of the bog and rust throughout the car I was thinking of a few little mods to do on not the biggest budget. After all the body work is finished I'd probably be respraying it at home after getting a little more experienced in painting. I'd also be aiming for some wider wheels and was looking at 15x8+0, some opinions on that would be great. Lastly the stock 4k is a little bit on the slow side, some opinions on whether the 4k is actually worth the work or something like a 4age would be more appropriate. As far as I know there is an exemption available for P plates in queenslan…

Well,3rd time around, some may have seen I advertised a KE70 for a bloke in another area, well,I ended up buying it from him myself,$200. Think I paid too much really as it has 210,000k's,auto,a/c,interior is clean, boot, petrol flap and wheel arches are all rusted as per usual for a KE70 BUT it had 3 doors missing, boot lid missing, bonnet missing, damaged guard drivers side and no grill. Well,Ive got into it over the last 2 days and cleaned it up pretty well,a/c switch is missing but everything else seems ok at present. Raided the car at pick a part kilsyth and got all the panels I needed so that added $300 to the purchase price, they are all fitted up now but still missing …

Ive owned a total of 6 ke70/ae71's. this will be my first conversion and most work will be completed by myself and a few of my mates(mechanics, auto elecs and fabby's) As you can tell by the heading I'm about to start the long process of building a 1uzfe powered KE70. the 1984 KE70 corolla S with aircon, was purchased for $1,000.00 of an elderly women who went blind and couldnt drive. She purchased it from Shepparton Toyota. where I'm currently employed as a salesman. The 1uzfe and auto cost $1000.00 n is out of a 1991 Toyota Celsior that had 130,000ks on it for when it was pulled from t…

Hi people, so I been working on my little corolla for a while now and thought I would make a thread about my build process. It's a 1984 AE71, I brought the car for $400 of an old hippie lady lol. Anyway when I got the car it had a stuffed 4a in it and had oil all over the engine bay god now's what happend to the poor old girl but that didn't bother me as I had a ke70 wagon with a clean dark blue interior and only 143000km on the clock, so I decided to scrap the wagon and go for the sedan (woohoo) I have wanted one of these since I was 13.When I got it home I pulled the dash out and all the pinchweld, platic trim and so on and replaced it with the dark blu…

Hi guys! Picked this little beauty up tuesday night. It's a standard 1981 KE70 panel van called Henry  I am the second owner! It has 250k on the clock but engine and gearbox were rebuilt about 80k ago. Drives well. It has a straight body but has a little rust in some areas. Interior needs a bit of work. I used to see this around my house a lot and one day, a few years ago, I pulled up next to it at the servo so I asked the bloke if he would sell, he said he wasn't selling yet but took my number anyway. Then recently, he and his wife contacted me saying they were looking to sell, so I went and had a look. So glad I did! Really nice people and was pleased with…
