well my KE25 is getting close to rego so I figure I should start a thread. I bought this KE25 about 15 months ago from a mate who had crashed it into the back of a hilux. I was after a KE25 (I had a KE20 at the time) and his insurance company didnt want to fix his car (wasnt written off) so I originally planned to just buy the car and swap the engine, tranny and diff into my 20... but when I seen the damage and realised it was easily repairable I decided id fix the KE25 because ive always prefered the shape. this was the damage, you can't see it too well but the radiator support panel was caved in: it took me a while to find a replacement support panel,…

Hey everyone. I've been a member here for almost 7 years, been using your wealth of information even longer. Thankyou to everyone who has contributed. The information on here makes everything so much easier. Yet at the same time so much harder due to deciding which way to go. So after buying my Rolla 8 years ago, I have been researching, planning and purchasing parts, and the time has now come to start putting things together. Thought I should probably document the process and give something back to the people who have given so much. A lot of what I am doing has been done before yet I think there will be a couple of surprises along the way. I have more things to get, y…

So going back maybe five months I found this. It was parked on the side of the road, so I went and knocked on a few doors and after dealing with some very "different" people I ended up buying this KE70 panelvan. My mates were into drifting, so this was going to be the token pig. Still is. Work on the pig began, so out came the power house 4KC, by this stage I had registered it and accumulated many parts. Luckily I sold the 4K and K50 for two bottles of Jim Beam, these helped me muchly. So I was left with a hole to fill. Luckily one of those many parts that I had accumulated was a 4AGE bigport, some T50 gear boxes and a few other handy things, and as a …

Me and my mate bought a AE92 with 4agze from Canberra. We touched up the paint Took the interior out bolted in some coil overs Went for some new rotors and took it to Wakefield 2 weeks later. Next we had a cage built and welded in bought a new cobra seat and a sports steering wheel Put on a full set of mags and took it Winton This is how it looks bogged at Winton (my son not used to no ABS) Still a few more things to tidy up on it but its coming along well and it sits at home next to our AE82.

OK, I have always had an obsession with the trd 3kr engine from back in the day, realised I was never going to get a real one so I decided to build my own. I don’t recommend this conversion to anyone I did it just to be see if it could be done. It took a lot of time and if I was not a fitter/turner a lot of money. Hope you find it as cool as I do. - Phil Matthews-Frederick. To save a lot of questions here are the specs. Ok, this isnt another 'I'm thinking of going down this path' thread.. Basicly, iv got a 84 rolla (I think its a KE71) and I plan to strip it to bits and track it. I'm going to strip pretty much everything, aside from the drive-train. I'm going to turbo-charge the stock motor and use that untill it dies. This isnt a daily drive, so it can sit around for as long as I need :) Just wanted a few pointers for the build in certain areas.. I will be running a blow through setup on the stock carby (if possible, may have to get one from a 2.5L+ motor), and will have to encase it to prevent fuel going out the bowl. The turbo Ill use is a CT9 from a starlet GT (1.3L turb…

Well I have decided to put my 5k motor into the ke20. But first things first, I have taken it down to get reconditioned. I'm getting it bored out and fitted with flat top pistons if available seeing that the 5k motors came with scalloped out pistons because the combustion chamber is in the piston rather then the head, so this will up the compression. Also i'm getting a mild cam put in it and getting it ported and polished and bigger valves if possible. The guy said the motor will be ready to pick up by the end of the month. It should be good when I get it back, can't wait! The 3k motor that is in my car at present was fully reconditioned only 3 years ago and has only…

Hey all my names Jarrod I live in capalaba and own a 78 ke30 4dr sedan. It came with the stock 3k which needed a rebuild so i stripped it down and left it there for 8 months. Got board saturday just gone so I went and bought a complete 5k and dropped it in, it isn't running just yet needs a few things such as a radiator. The only other things I've done so far is put a woodgrain steering wheel on goes well with the vinyl seats and some gold skull door lock knobs. Transmission is automatic might swap it later on down the line but not in the near future. Anyway here are some pics. 5k in engine bay 5k ready to go in

Hi all, I recently sold my 180sx to help fund my new project, a 5K Supercharged KE30! My dad and I will be doing this ourselves, well mainly my dad haha but i'm good for moral support :) We eventually found a 5k block with some gear still on it, and then found a 4k to "mix and match" the bits needed. I then bought a SC14 Supercharger from a Jap Import shop in Adelaide. We will hopefully be doing a manual conversion with some parts that we got from U-Pull-It, just waiting to find a gearbox.Anyway, Be sure to stay tuned in the near future for more updates! :D

Well, I started this project a little while ago after picking up a rust-free shell from Trendact. Bloody cheap too. It had NO interior except the dash and steering wheel and door trims. My first plan was to throw a 4age at it. But finances stood in the way of that. Then I was going to freshwn up the 4k (needed a rebuild anyway). But then I found a nice 5k to wack in it. I've been told that it's had a stage 2 cam thrown in, and some head work done. I've already change the box to a k50. I'm going to make a complete custom boot install. And of course a respray. I've also got a spoiler to go thats currently sitting on my other ke70 (daily driver shit-box). Was hoping to have …

Long time toyota fanatic thats new to corollas. I'm looking for some insight...... I've got a very nice TE-31 that is in desperate need for some go fast parts. I'm no stranger to toyotas however I've always been more of a truck guy so this is the first corolla I've pursued as a project. The questions are as follows: Modify my 2TC or install a 5VZ? Thoughts - my 2TC has an automatic (unacceptable) and its fairly old. To keep it i would need a w50 (might be more work than its worth) Counter thoughts - Ive owned several pickups and i have 2 5VZ's laying around - including a complete 2wd R150 drive train with all the bits. Despite the…

well iam o here doing a ride thread on my VE valiant which back in 08 and was rego'd but due to many bills back then i could not afford to keep the it rego'd and so it came off the road only to fix her back up and get it to pass roady which it did about 2 months ago, But the paint was really faded and so it decided i was into the light blue with the white roof contrast, So i decided it was time to freshen up the paint i repainted the white roof and keep the two tone it had i just changed the blue colour to a darker blue OCEAN blue and looks awsome. Exterior: its completly stock on the exterior even the wheels have the original hudcaps with them and surrounds when i …

Howdy all. I've been meaning to start a thread on here. I haven't got much in the way of pictures at the moment, but they will follow. 67ROLLA My 3K powered KE10, as yet the only mod is a 2" exhaust that I just got today. Sounds friggin awsome!! Also I have pianted bright orange the rocker cover, air filter holder thingy and the fan. Now just need some new hoses, new battery box installed, tidy up the wiring, and that should be it for the engine bay. I am getting her painted in March, bright orange, with 2 x 2" white stripes off center on the drivers side. Some time in the future I plan to get the interior changed to orange with the white stripes co…

well, after much procrastination i have finally gotten around to making a thread dedicated to my 1972 KE20 corolla. i acquired it back in 2007 as a birthday present from my parents. being 17 and having no money it just sat there for 8 months. then one day i decided i needed to start on this project so i could get it done before my 18th birthday. so the car went off to the local mechanic and the diagnosis was not good. it needed new front shocks, the front seats re trimmed, a new bonnet(this one had rusted so bad half the frame had collapsed) and then the big one. the engine had done the big end bearings. it was dead. so i did a bit of research and found Peter Robinson…
