I'm thinking of setting up a ke70 drift car and was deciding on what motors to use, i did seriously want to run a rotary as i have always wanted one, but the SR20det motor and the 4agze motor have come into consideration. Now the thing is if i decide that the compertition/cost become too great with drift, that i would just turn it into a 1/4 mile car. So i would want to have a motor that i could get high ten second quarter miles out of, thus why i liked the rotary motor idea. But the question is: Could the Sr20det or the 4agze (with turbo rather then super charger) do a 10sec 1/4, in a ke70? Would the costs to acheive this be too high compaired to the ro…

Soo is anyone else concerned about the new laws and the ability given to police to determine what is legal? From what I've read there is : Type 1: which is dangerous driving ie; burnouts, drifting, racing, high end speeding etc which have a 2 strike policy. 2 strikes and your car is sold or crushed. Type 1 doesn't concern me, operate your car within the laws and your all good. Type 2 : from what I can tell is illegal modifications. 4 strikes and same outcome I'm mid build on my corolla and I am having evrything engineered along the way. But the look I'm doing is not a sleeper and is along the lines of an aggressive 70's race. This includes wider than s…

Hey guys I'm new here i have been having a problem with my ke70 and its stock 4k, the car will not idle at all even when in neutral to keep it running i have to keep revving it, also when i take off it has no power what so ever barley gets up to 60kms the prevous own told me the manifold gasket needed replacing, makes sense because it sounds like a tractor. What would be the causes of no idle and no power but, could it be a blown engine? no smoke coming out or anything The car is also manual Help is really appreciated thanks :)

Hey, I'm having a very hard choice in some new wheels. The 2 I am looking at are, koya ae teks or a ssr mesh copy. Both are same size (15x8) with 0 offset, and same price. Also would I have to do much guard mods to fit them under my guards? With 195/50 tyres on them. Also put a picture of my car on as well.

I haven't seen a topic on this, although whenever an engine conversion is talked about its the first thing bought up! Engine weights. So who volunteers to weigh their engine? I used some bathroom scales and an engine crane. (the scales were glass too!) So i will start, please add to this if you can. SR20DET = 120kg This included, cast turbo manifold, flywheel, cas, inlet manifold, fuel, oil in sump. everything except for starter motor and alternator. I imagine a long motor would be under 100kg. Weights I hope you guys can provide. 3,4,5,7K series 4age 3sge ca18 1g anything else you have on your garage floor!

Does anyone have any dyno-proven power figures for any of their 4AGZE-powered cars? It's just that I've bought myself Lola, a KE55 with a 4AGZE, and I'm wondering about her potential. In the issue 81 of Zoom magazine there is an orange 4AGZE-powered AE86 with 137kW at the rear wheels, which should be equal to about 240-250hp at the flywheel (at a rough guess). Can anyone better this figure?

now i know i am going to come across as a noob, but has this actually ever been done? i have searched youtube and the net and haven't found any decent videos or discussions on it. i know that leaf springs are not going to do me any favors but i recently acquired a nice little ke55 as a daily driver, i have owned many ke70/ae71's and they are so easy to modify for drift. i also realise that the main thing i will need is power but i am a big believer in suspension and brakes before power. later on in time i'm going to do a ca18 conversion but until than i want to do as much as i can to make the rear end stiff, what could be done easily? i'm not very familiar with leafs…

Hey Rollaclub This is my first post here so I guess it'd be good form to introduce myself My name is Odin, I live in the Netherlands (or Holland, whichever) and I've owned a '76 KE35 for little over a year now, it's my baby, my pride and beauty Living in the Netherlands does pose some problems parts wise, brake pads, clutch parts are usually not that difficult to find, but the rarer, the more expensive some parts get, I've got the non RS version, so just the 3K-H and K40 gearbox, and pretty much since I've had it, I've been looking for a K50. Recently I was quoted 900 euro for one (1390 AUD), and of course, looking at the for sale ads here makes me sick wit…

So, because I like to do stuff myself, I'm going to fix my god awful dash. Its going to be pretty much a strip down and rebuild, so my couple of quick questions are: - Who can do vaccuum vinyl application for when I want to put a new cover on it? don't say any auto re-trimmer becasue I don't know any. - Is foam a legal necesity? ie. smacking your head on a fibre glass dash is never fun. I don't think it is, just thought Id ask anyway. - Any tips/tricks to instil on a young apprentice from a master/guru

Hello all. I have recently inherited a ke70 off my grandfather(with 66xxxkm on the clock!!!) and I am in the process of doing a couple of mods to it. I have just ordered some king springs for her and I'll be doing a carb soon. But wile under the car looking around I noticed all the rubber bushings seemed to be falling apart so I'd like to replace them while I have it up on stands. I have no idea what they're all called though, could someone point me in the direction of what I need and a store I could get them all from? Thanks!

ʞ©$ɟ it Yolo 2013, Quinn Versus Australia: Better Than Brock I am officially announcing my insanity. Half of my things are packed into boxes, ready to ship out to their new owners. My plans are organized decently already, many ducks are lined up. I have officially lost my marbles. Post and Video #1 of the dumbest thing I have or will have done ever. EVER. http://speedhero.wor...ter-than-brock/ Stay tuned for the for sale thread. I have always kept DK as a part of my life, and this will be no different. Those who are annoyed with my stupidity can continue to be, those who support, thanks! Hello, I'm Quinn, or DiscoQuinn to most. I've been into Coro…

Hey, recently i've been interested in buying a 1980 or so corolla as i'm getting my license soon and the new turbo rule is coming in to play... I have searched everywhere for information on the differences between these models.. Which ones weren't originated in Australia? What model would be the easiest to bolt mods straight onto? What model had the original quad headlights?.. Any information on these models would be very helpful! Thanks!

I was thinking last night in bed, as usual loosing sleep over my cars problems.... that most mechanics have ripped me off, so maybe some club members who know how to DIY on Rolla's can get together and help each other out on weekends and what not.. so.. meet up and help on each others cars... etc.. I know I can use the help and gain experiance in helping others.. I have guy currently from the states who has a extremely worked 2ete who is after my engine for its 1.5ltr capacity so get can go from his current 250hp to 360hp... but he said if shipping is to exy he won't take it... so if he doesn't want it I'm going to rebuild it and get some experiance with engine…

I have been getting prices and opinions on a decent brake upgrade for my KE30 in anticipation of the 12A being dropped in soon. A bloke on Ausrotary is doing kits to suit Early Corollas, Mazdas etc. and I'm after peoples opinions/thoughts on whether this is worth it, or whether the corona strut converted to coilovers/hilux calipers setup would be the better option. The following is basically what he supplies. He confirms that i wont need to upgrade the master cylinder/booster for the calipers. Its alot of money, but i'm sure they will pull the car up pretty damn well. I'm just concerned that it may be a little bit of overkill. I've been told that the Corona upgra…

Well its come time to sort out some carbs for my 5K. I was thinking of purchasing a Redline Intake Manifold to suit either one or two Weber 40 DCOE carbs. Has anyone seen or used these manifolds - If so, are they any good or worth the money? Weber DCOE's have the same bolt pattern as Dellorto DHLA's from what i've read. (Undecided as yet as to which brand of carb to go with) I'll speak to the bloke tuning my car to see what he reccommends as far as brands and number of carbs anyway.
