Hi folks Decided it was high time I posted a thread of the little Tiara that has been living with me since earlier this year. Story goes that my brother is a bit of a car nut like me, and when I sent him a link for this on ebay, he fell in love and went hammer and tong to win it. Win it he did, and then asked me to go collect it for him since he lives in Sydney and it lived in Melbourne, just like me. It had a few months rego left on it which was handy, so I grabbed it, assured that nothing was wrong with it for a roady, and off I toddled. Here are some pics from the ad. G Complete with relatively gutless 'R' engine (note no numbers…

Hi guys i recently sold my Legnum VR4 twin turbo V6 wags blah blah blah. Got over it to be honest. I have been wanting a ke20 corolla for the most part of life :blinks: just never got around to it... Till the perfect one came up, its had all the major work done :blinks: there are still a few bits and pieces that need to be done, such as the roof lining, the guy i bought it off told me that all i need to do is take it to someone to have it done, but I'm insure if it needs an insert or not before putting the lining on :blinks: so if someone could please clarify this that would be great. It also needs to have the parcel shelf done and maybe another few bits and pieces. …

Well guys, being thinking of what to do with my old '55, the dented up old bitch that used to have the 4ktc in it..... this car.... For a few months now I have been toying with the idea of converting it to 4x4 with suzuki sierra running gear! Because the sierras have a seperate gear box and 4wd transfer case, the plan was to put both sieraa diffs, the transfer case, front leaves and a mix match of steering racks. Sierras and corolla are pretty close in chassis rails spacing. Now due to me not being able to find a written off sierra or running gear at a price I'm happy with, I've come up with another plan for the car in the mean time - an entry class Tas rally car.…

Hi all, Just hopped on cos I've picked up a 25 and wanted to sus the for sale for some bits and thought I'd share my panno (now wagon) with its new paint scheme. The rest is the same as it used to be when it was all white, I've just drawn up a 70s inspired "race" theme paint job, rubbed her down, repaired some dents, and spent a day masking and painting and then cleared over the lot. Then I had the sign writing hand painted on too - hope youse like it. I love it.

Hi guys Due to a recent change in job, I lost my company car and decided an old school Corolla was going to be the go for my daily transport. After looking at quite a few on ebay and in person, I noticed someone's advice in the wanted posts suggesting Peter Robinson was the man to see... I trundled up there this afternoon and had a chat and am now the proud owner (to be) of this great little car...I will pick it up next week once Peter has got a roadworthy for me. Specs are all very much one owner granny spec.. K motor, toyoglide 2 speed auto, 4 wheel drums, neat white/cream interior. Immediate projects: Get roadworthy from Peter Repair single tear in d…

Seeing as this forum seems to have the highest concentration of KE10s on the internet, I figure I should throw mine in for good measure! The story starts when I drag this KE10 from the bushes in my hometown, paying about $200 to get it to my house. My initial observations: The car has been hit in the front and back with a lot of flaking bondo as evidence. The entire interior is halfway converted to dirt. Not a single mechanical or electrical component is working or even looks serviceable. The only upside is that the shell is structurally solid if not straight, and it has some extremely awesome patina. To the parts pile! My initial plan was to leave it stock an…

Just acquired this ke70 from a co-worker, he sold it to at a pretty cheap price. It does need shitloads of work, some body work needs doing, it's got a fawkin transplanted driver's door with different color. Smells like a sewer inside, but the engine runs good. My plans for this KE, change the engine, trans, dash, interior, paint, wheels, practically every freakin thing except the shell. My customs agent said my crate from overseas with all my parts has arrived, and can be picked up in the next couple of days. In the crate are my goodies 4AGE 20 valve BT T50 trans Quad round headlight conversion Extractors Bodykits AE111 Dash AE86 Rear with LSD Ra…

Thought I'd start a thread for the beast now that it is starting to gain momentum. Picked her up a few months back and have been fixing it ever since Hence the name moocher.... Cause she definately does not pay the bills.... When I initially got her she was running ok but started to wear out over time. Almost like it had a cosmetic makeover before I bought her Seems as though it has had a 3kbp head slaped on and very poorly bolted on manofolds that did not suit... I found out that the bolts that were used bottomed out before they even tensioned the manifold. So basically done so far is: Changed fluids Spark plugs Ignition leads Points Ro…

Thought it was about time to put up a Rides post about my current ke15.I started rebuilding it in 2008 .I first got the shell as a spare parts car for the ke15 I had at the time. I never planned on rebuilding it, as it was not that great a shell .It was only ever going to be a parts car for panels etc should something unthinkable happen to my good one. Well the unthinkable happened one night while I was out my house was broken into & my ke15 was used as the getaway car .Latter to be found as a burn out shell in the local pine forest .A few years passed till I finally got the bug again to drive a ke15 .So I decided to rebuild the old shell I had sitting there for part…

So I got this little Ke16 from perth earlier this year, and have been meaning to get a progress report on the go Soooooo I flew over to perth and did a deal on a car I had never seen before ( I didnt even know Ke16s existed :hmm:), put it on a truck and flew home, 2 weeks later it arrived at the depot (70kays from me) so I figured it would be easy, get a mate to drive me up there, get in car, drive car home..... If only it was that easy. This is how it was when I got it This is the car overheating for the 8th time on the way home haha, turned a 1 hour trip into a 5 hour trip :bash: Once it was home it lasted 3 days before the sump gasket let go (in a…

In 1983, Mr Toyota decided to release this sexy yet sleek powerhouse of joy. He designed her with the most aerodynamics at hand, and to drive like a slug on crack, A little old lady decided that she wanted in on Mr Toyota's madness and bought this little devil from brand new, after arthritis kick in from all the shear head throw-back from its power, she made the choice to sell this machine to a lovely couple to retired her efforts. Five years past and rust got the best of her, but she still stayed young at heart, then, one day a hansom and strapping young chap saw this fetching piece of artwork and saw the potential in her, a couple of days later and an exchange of curren…

Only mods done to this one are: - 4age (kept auto) - Wheels (ENKEI's). - Twincam wheel. - Tower to Tower strut brace. - Tinted windows. - Audio. - Plates (her initials and DO…

Yes, I've finally pulled my finger out, and Bluey is on the hoist at Chateau de Wayno's. It rolled in at 1400hrs yesterday, and work started half a stubbie later. Engine and box are out, interior out, body deadener out (mostly), and a certain amount of body ugliness found. New front left guard and valence panel sourced (thanks Fook!). If people want I'll post progress pics as we go. Here's a couple to get started..... Engine out, average front end.....

i have finally acquired a car to work on. shes no beauty, but whats a project if it doesnt need a little work? plans are to do an engine conversion, convert to 5spd, respray and dress up and re-do the interior. it might take me a while to do but i love to tinker and i can't wait. i will probably start in the new year, once the christmas debts have cleared and the money starts to accrue again. i havent chosen a motor yet, I'm still deciding. had a few thoughts on colours (thinkin maybe a deep metallic red (not to burgundy though) probably off a current model new car). anyway, would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. cheers! kate

So I picked up a 1983 KE70 last week. I had been thinking about getting a car again, never had a Toyota, had quite a few old Mazdas and a couple of Datsuns. This was fairly cheap so I thought I might as well snap it up and see how much it needs to get it back on the road. It had been a courtesy car for a local mechanic. Not 100% if I'm going to keep it yet, I'm a poor uni student so might move it along if I find it needs too much. It's got a stock 4k-c which seems to run great and a 4 speed. Here are some teaser pics: Dodgy repairs under fuel flap. Rust is bottom of rear guard, pretty bad but seen worse, I sanded this back and painted…

Right so my Sprinter needs some paint and panel to get it up to where I would like it. I have spent far too much on the running gear for it to be sitting in the shed while I get that sorted. I have been looking for a neat AE71/KE70 to put the running gear into. I have had a couple of close ones where I was just a little too slow with the coin but maybe it is all for the best. Picked this up during the week, local car with only 141,000km. Little bit of surface rust in a couple of places but the normal spots that are bad for rust in these are clear. Will have to track down a cross member and pedal box but other than that I it should be a goer. I gave it a wash and a…

Well, after seeing an MS75 at Picnic at Hanging Rock earlier this year, and my partner falling in love with it, it has always been in the back of my mind that we would own an MS65 or MS75. when Adam (silverra23) posted about a one owner MS65 for $500 ono, i knew this would be a great chance of bringing one into the family. we (myself and Kate) drove out there together to check it out and after turning the key to hear it fire immediately, it was a no brainer. we left a deposit on it and drove back the 1 hour 30 mins home to count the days until we picked it up a week later (yesterday). the drive back was trouble-free, not a thing went wrong (except for the guy …

I thought it was about time I posted SOMETHING about my cars on here. I have a 1977 4 door KE30, a 1974 (?) 2 door KE30, and another 4 door KE30 for parts, I think from memory it's a '77, plus I have a stock pile of 4k engine parts and interior parts which I will be putting on here after I have what I need for my builds. The original plan was for the yellow 4 door to be my project car as I had one years ago with a 2TG conversion which I stupidly sold, and needed something to fill my void! But came across the 2 door and the white 4 door plus all parts. I will post some pictures (by some I mean lots) and write my plans along the way. This will eventually be a build thread w…
