Hey all. Gribble here from Sydney. Just thought id share some info on my little Rally Project I'm currently building. Its going to be a fairly straight forward KE70, 4k, 5 speed, totally stripped interior, bilstein shocks, adm ae86 brakes, cage, seats, harnesses etc etc. Nice and simple for a starter. So far ive gotten the shell totally stripped down, I have removed the sound deadening from the interior and 90% of the crap tar stuff from underneath. Ive begun to stitch the chassis seams together to gain some torsional rigidity. Next step is to do the seat mountings and the cage. PICS! Ok ive finally uploaded some pics of the build. Here goes..... This …

Hi guys, Picked up this KE35 the other day. I'm new to Corolla's so learning as I go. I don't really have a clear direction for it yet, just hoping to improve it gradually over time. It's reasonably straight with the exception of some minor dings and scratches accumulated over the past 42 years and seems to be free of any serious rust. It's had a closed door respray at some point too, the original colour is similar but more of slightly darker grey. Running a standard 3k but has had a 5 speed conversion - not sure which type yet. first task will be a decent service I think, radiator is putrid and oil's not much better. Cheers, John.

Hello everyone! I'm Andrew and I've been a long long long time stalker of this website and I was thinking it's probably time to post up a few pics of my 55 that I'm currently "fixing up", It's nothing special but I love it and I hope some of you guys do as well! Anyway here's a few things about it! It's has a stock as a rock 4k with unknown K's 32/36 weber off an escort Set of extractors and a 1 3/4 inch exhaust with a lot of holes (it is very loud) Nice little deep dish sports wheel Set of 13x7 spitfire wheels And a few other bits a pieces here and there Once I jump onto a computer I'll upload a few more pics here's one to get you gu…

hello everybody, I'm just about to start ripping my ke30 apart again, for a complete build, so i thought i may as well show my progress. I recently restored my ke25, with a bare metal respray, all the chrome, and the result turned out unbelievable IMO, so have decided that it is time for the ke30 to get a facelift, using the exact same styling  I shall quickly introduce my vehicle ---------------------------------------- Anyways, this is my ke30, when i it looked its best. It is always under development, particularly in the driveline department. I have to say it spends more time getting worked on then driven. The old m…

Hi, I would like to present my rolla which is my sort of obsession :-) Its now twincharged and I think it is very near its complete state (which I am not sure what is exactly :-)) - Let me tell you my story. All started in 2008 when i was desperately looking for something with 4age engine. This E8 appeared on the marked and on the every next day I made a deal with its owner. It was a bit rusty but the engine was in great condition, car was light and nimble, had this smell of old inside :-) it was just great. I will post pics in separate posts of different stages that the car went through since than. This is how it was on the beginning:

My project car is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) 1987 Toyota Corolla II GP Turbo (Grey Import) I bought the car in bad shape for a decent price, so I spent thousands refreshing the car and bringing it back to its original standard. Once Finished I decided on a 4EFTE transplant from an early Starlet GT Turbo. The conversion was dodgy and to cut a long story short, I was ripped off leaving me with a car with more problems then when I originally bought it, and the problems from the dodgy engine transplant ultimately lead to the car faulting and being taking off the road. Slowly I have been repairing the car and finding things which need attention. The pl…

Welcome, and cheers for viewing my build thread! I bought this car in May '15 and didn't really plan on doing any mods to it, but as we all know, things often don't stay standard for very long. I've always liked these cars, so when I finally had the chance to buy one I opted for this '06 SX6 Sportivo model. It came with 18" TRD wheels, but apart from that it was all stock. It's not very often you see modified Aurions here in New Zealand so it leaves people wondering what the hell it is, while still blending in as a family sedan at the same time. The car now wears 19x9.5" Vertini Magic concave wheels, along with an array of other mods that contribute to the overall loo…

Planning some work on my KE55, time for a build thread. Here goes: I bought this stock as a rock KE55 a few months ago, and have been pouring time into learning how everything works and repairing whatever issues spring up. So far, I've changed the stock carby to a 32/32 weber off a fiat 500 (or similar), given it a thorough tuneup, done a couple of suspension bushings, etc. and changed the clutch after it exploded when I was interstate. It's developed a decent misfire, and I've diagnosed this as a piston ring issue. The motor also has just on 200k kms on it. I figure if I'm going to take the motor out to fix it, I may as well change it for a 5k! I…

So I had the ghetto boosted hilux and it just wasn't making me happy. I really liked the r33 and was gutted I sold it to buy the ute for my failed attempt at a business. But I got a new job, paying well and a mate had a Rolla but needed a ute. And he wanted my ute. And after I test drove his car we swapped. So this is it. AE101 sedan with a blacktop 20v with a bunch of SQ goodies. Full exhaust. Coilovers. Sw20 seats. C56 (non lsd, yet). One of those defi style all in one gauges. Body is a bit rough but the grin on my face when I drive it is all that matters. I N D U C T I O N I'LL get some better pics in the next few days. Will hav…

Hi all, I have this nice beauty of a car, good old ke55 4 door sedan. Nice Toyota yellow with a mint condition interior. 4k-c engine with k40 gearbox. Been doing my own bits and pieces here and they're. Plus some added mods to give me classic extra grunt that is so much needed. So far I have - converted the the front grille from square to round plus added in some 7" Halo's wired up to my parkers. I'd bought the grille 2nd hand and gave it a good clean and paint. Plus remove/ fix dents and polish the chrome. - Added a set of 15" pos 8+ rims for style and over killed the tyres by getting bridgestones re003. Oh well. - next went with 4-1 e…

Had this car for a while now and slowly getting there. It came with the green backyard paint job, jellybeans, threaded bolts, wheel well half full of water and spaghetti wiring amoungst other stuff. Needed a bit of tidy-up. Ive had a few 4 doors over time and managed to hang onto a few bits which went into this car. I bought a written off AE82 twincam and did the conversion. I rebuilt and installed an AE86 front end still with ADM calipers. Its not quick but I like the 4AGE. Grant from NZ did the interior, He's a legend. I love the styling of 70's 2 door OZ fords, Holdens, Chargers so I like my rollas to look ADM if that makes any sense. Theres been a few guys on thi…

OK, I have always had an obsession with the trd 3kr engine from back in the day, realised I was never going to get a real one so I decided to build my own. I don’t recommend this conversion to anyone I did it just to be see if it could be done. It took a lot of time and if I was not a fitter/turner a lot of money. Hope you find it as cool as I do. - Phil Matthews-Frederick. To save a lot of questions here are the specs. Hey guys, I've been lurking here a while and finally thought it's time to post a proper thread! This story starts on the 3rd of October 2016, a day before my 16th birthday. For around 3 years I was looking for an r32 Skyline until I was convinced by my dad that a Skyline was the last car I'd want on my Ps, I knew he was right so I went on the hunt for a RWD, nice looking car that had that "cool factor" So I searched for a corolla for about a week and this popped up. Started as a full granny spec ke30, everything original and on the 3/10/16 I went to have a look. Instantly fell in love and went home very happy. Came with original papers, service history and warranty! …

This is my ke30, owned her for 5 years and got me threw college as a collision tech. ... I bought it as a running project and every daily I had failed in one way or another but not my rolla! When there was 2 feet of snow on the ground she got me to work ( Ofcourse with falcon street tires I blew every stop light that winter in fear of not moving again) I'm now in a better position and want to take care of her as she did me. Very solid, very reliable... Lots to improve. Just got all guages to work and cleaned up engine bay.

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker short time member. I got addicted to Corollas over 10 years ago when a mate at Uni had a green KE10 with a 4K in it. We once lapped it around Mt Panorama to charge it after I helped him out with a jumpstart. It was a complete hoot and I've never forgotten it - Tommo, if you're reading this, hope you've still got her! Anyway, not quite a KE10 but I've gone and picked up a KE20. She was lurking on the other side of town, perched up on old gas tanks at the metal recyclers. They had picked it up at a deceased estate and it was in very sorry condition - filthy both inside and out, perished rims and tyres, starting to rust on the bottom …

[iNTRODUCTION] Hey all, my name is Ethan and I'm from Railton, Tasmania. Depending which way you look at it, I'm either fortunate or rather unfortunate. I was 'fortunate' enough to have inherited my KE70 from one of my best friends, the 'unfortunate' part is that he had to pass away for me to get this opportunity. We bought this KE with the intention to build it into our own little drift pig purely for learning the basics and getting some sideways action. He was the purchaser, it was his legally, but it was realistically ours, I had intended on doing a lot of the mechanical work with him, because we were best mates, it was our passion and our project. …

Long time lurker here. I don't post often but thought it time I share some latest pics As some of you would have seen previously, I have a ke30 2door sedan with a 3k, worked head, lightened flywheel, EFI (7ke manifold), Megasquirt, distributorless ignition (EDIS), etc etc. It even has a catalytic converter. I have now added an AMR500 supercharger, which is originally from a 930cc twincharged Nissan March Superturbo. I fitted it to the engine using custom brackets, which I knocked up on a spare block in my shed. This was the easy bit! The pulley on the S/C was changed from serpentine to a v-belt type from a corolla alternator. My crank pulley already had a too…

A couple of years ago i picked up this KE35 here in the philippines. Pretty much it was just covered in rust and had just two passenger side seats and cheap carpet glued all over the place to cover up the rust. I figured It would be a good project for me to work on my body work and welding skills. turns out i was right, lots and lots of practice.

Got this nice little 1 owner a few weeks ago with full log books, receipts and even a Polaroid of it when it was new, its my first Corolla and so far I love it Main reason I liked it so much was that it was kept stock its whole life so there isn't many parts I need to find and I thought it was quite rare to find one in this condition. The drivers side door had a good whack a few years ago the previous owner mentioned, I had to source a new glass window (got the whole door+mirror which was awesome). Wasn't as hard to find as I had firstly thought, other than that the passenger front guard has a small but decent dent in the front near the headlight and the c…

I joined the states forums 8 or 9 years ago and at that time there was still active interest.....they were useful forums, Now.......extinct. apparently everyone has morphed into faceplant and twitter, I have written before, it is a shame. Our entire society has latched on to the internet technology as the only acceptable way from now on......we are going down a bad path. anyway, it is nice to see that this site still has some interest and valid posts.....CHeers to you all. I have finished my original SR5 te27 project and actually found someone to buy my SR5 clone project and now my next build is a 2 door 74 RT104 corona. Just wanted to say...HEY.

Hey everyone. I've been a member here for almost 7 years, been using your wealth of information even longer. Thankyou to everyone who has contributed. The information on here makes everything so much easier. Yet at the same time so much harder due to deciding which way to go. So after buying my Rolla 8 years ago, I have been researching, planning and purchasing parts, and the time has now come to start putting things together. Thought I should probably document the process and give something back to the people who have given so much. A lot of what I am doing has been done before yet I think there will be a couple of surprises along the way. I have more things to get, y…

At long last I finally have myself a new toy to play with. 1984 AE71 factory manual wagon 104 xxx on the clock fairly clean Mods are: AE86 front struts with JDM brakes XYZ coilover kit front lip (mk 1 golf) granny visor (genuine) fender mirrors (genuine) flared guards Gemini front bar 16 x 8 steelies Currently really don't enjoy driving it. The rear leaf spring are soo stiff it feels like the tailgate is going to fall off The valve stem seals are leaking so bad it acts like a squid on defense after every traffic light stop. Really don't like the overly done guard flaring job. So when I get the time to fix these is…

My 4agte Ke70 recently blew up its 2nd standard diff. So i decided to do a conversion I Recently completed my diff conversion in my ke70. R31 skyline lsd disc brake diff. After much research i found that everyone was either taking both diffs to an engineering shop to get the mounts changed over, or making up a jig. Both options are quite expensive/time consuming. Being low on cash i did the conversion a cheaper way and wanted to tell others- (this is the reason for this post). I first marked a centre line on both diffs (went between the upper trailing arms on the ke, and between the sway bar mounts on the r31 to work it out). Then marked a reference line along …

hey guys thought it was about time i got serious about a rides thread, seeings as there is alot of dollars going into this car i thought i should atleast boast about it a little  its kind of a long story, but basically i bought it at the very end of 2005/start of 2006, too long ago, off here as a cheap go fast car. picked it up for 1300 unregistered with the 1g, W57 and alfa diff all there. blue plated and LPG certed too... was under the impression it would need a set of turbos and a crossover pipe and it would go. upon getting it home, i realised just what a mess the whole bloody car was. that was it around the time it came home. it then…

Well it's been a long time since I've had a project, but picked up this ke20 from a mate's dad looking to get rid of some vehicles. It's had a respray at some stage, as well as new springs and discs just before he took it off the road 7 years ago and it has just sat there. Plan is just to tidy up the body, get it running and then registered. Few things need to happen though Rust repairs driver's side fender Driver's door fouls on fender (opened when I went to look at it the other day so don't know if it's moved during transport) Grill and bumper wonky (doesn't look like from impact damage, just poorly reset) Brakes have no fluid in the reservoir Hasn't starte…

so i spotted this panno sitting neglected at a petrol station, thought it was stolen and had been dumped. had a smashed window but looked like it was in decent condition so i left a note on it asking if they'd like to sell. few weeks later, the owner got in contact with me and a deal was struck and i got it towed back to my mates place the next day where we started to clean it up. to our surprise it came up exceptionally well. the back was full of jahova's witness propaganda and heaps of random shit. manky carpet and whatnot. it took a bit of work to get it running but it did run and drive quite well. the motor was a little smokey though, so i decided to pull it. …

The build thread for my 4AGZE powered AE95 Toyota Corolla 4WD wagon. My AE95 Social Media Landing Page {Intro + Purchase} I purchased my 1989 Toyota Corolla AE95 SR5 AWD Wagon in June 2006. I found it on eBay (where else :P) and paid a tidy sum of $500 for it. Saved from the scrap yard. It had a non-existent clutch, a couple of smallish dents, a/c gasless, no rego and the red paint was completely faded. Apart from those few minor things it was fairly straight all round. At that time I had already shopped around trading post etc. and I found the average price for a decent AE95 was $3000 so really I was happy with what I got. The main reasons for indulging in th…

We’re finally beginning to get back into doing some work on the cars. First priority is getting my ke30 club car going. Today Rob and I managed to tidy up some wiring in the engine bay and remove the majority of some very hard cracked paint and rust from the bootlid. Obviously there’s still a lot more work to be done, including some more much dreaded sanding tomorrow, but we’re making progress. forgot to take a pic of the bootlid before I started, but this pic is after hours of scraping and sanding :/ it looked like dry cracked mud prior!
