The car before it was taken appart: And how it looked when i bought it: Some of the new parts that i got with the car: And the rest of the parts: Have enough plans for it but first i want the car back on the road as fast as possible because i don…

Gday all. First time starting a topic and only due to being in a tight situation... Purchased the vehicle as is, unregistered. Running a 1G-GZE. Highly modified all round, diff, brakes, seating, gearbox, supercharger, intercooler etc. Checked the mod plate when getting it roadworthied and noticed no mod code for engine change... Bugger. Got codes for all above mentioned mods. Does anyone know if this engine can legally be shoehorned into this vehicle? I will try to get some pics loaded up, but really just want to know if I will be able to register it as a daily driver? I'm in QLD. Thanks!

Hello All, My name is Mitch, I'm 22 a car salesman and qualified boilermaker. Ive owned a total of 6 ke70/ae71's. this will be my first conversion and most work will be completed by myself and a few of my mates(mechanics, auto elecs and fabby's) As you can tell by the heading I'm about to start the long process of building a 1uzfe powered KE70. the 1984 KE70 corolla S with aircon, was purchased for $1,000.00 of an elderly women who went blind and couldnt drive. She purchased it from Shepparton Toyota. where I'm currently employed as a salesman. The 1uzfe and auto cost $1000.00 n is out of a 1991 Toyota Celsior that had 130,000ks on it for when it was pulled from t…

Hey everyone, kinda new to the forum and definitely not close to a lot of you (I'm in the states). wanted to show off my 2 door sedan build a little and will probably ask questions along the way because you guys have waaaayyy more support for corollas other than AE86's than we do in the states. on with the build. i got this car 3 years ago now and was just going to use it as a DD so i didnt have to drive my miata all the time. here is a pic of when i got it. it had some issues when i got it... it had an electric fuel pump that was dumping 10 psi into a tired weber 32/36 so it was just pig rich. the exhaust manifold was broken and the exhaust was perf…

Hello everyone, new to this site, old to Corolla's Where should I begin....... I guess it all started about six years ago; I was thinking about which way I wanted to go with my TE72 project. I kept dreaming of a 4A-GE swap (just like everyone else). Suddenly, like lighting striking my brain, it came to me! I’ll swap in a 5M-GE from an early 80’s Supra. I started doing some research to make sure it was possible to stick the inline 6 under the hood. I managed to find two blurry photos of 7M-GTE’s in TE72’s. That was more than enough proof for me. First I needed to find a running supra to swap the parts from. I searched and searched, but was always disappointed, b…

Thought I'd put this up to track it's progress, I have had a few sedans but not a wagon so this will be fun :), I got this particular one off a young girl who drove it while on her P's and before that it was an old lady car. Interior is original and unmolested and no rips/tears nothing! It looked like it was "repaired" a while back and now starting to uncover the horror!! As I got it, you can see the colour change down the side.... Hmm...?? Same on both sides! Cut out rust and put in new metal, no bog!!!!!!! This started off as a bubble!! Most of it is welded up now and half way through the wheel arch, I bought some ke70 front guards to do the fla…

Hi guys I'm pretty new to this forum, previously hung out at AE86DC, JDMST, MX5CarTalk etc, basically whatever ride i'm rolling in at the time. Just sold my Evo 6 and have moved on to an AE71 wagon (who does that, honestly?), but yeah, the Evo just wasn't me. I would have preferred a low roof & flat front wagon, but this came up for sale so i grabbed it. Links to other current & previous build threads: Shakotan Corona Turbo MX5 ITB AE86 So here is my new daily: DETAILS: Stock as a rock AE71, 4AC & 5 speed. 103,000kms & 2 previous owners. Good service history. Pretty good all round really. Passenger side panels aren't quite as…

I've been meaning to bang up a thread for a while. I purchased my Panno a few months ago while I was living in Melbourne, at first I wasn't to keen on converting from my usual sedans to a Panelvan, but now I wouldn't have it any other way. I have just completed the drive to relocate back to the gold coast so I can now start playing around with it. She's extremely straight with only two or three rusts spots 1/2 the size of a five cent piece. It's completely unmolested with 128000 on the clock from factory. The only few things that I have done are fit MA61 Supra wheels with fresh rubber and MA60(?) Supra seats, and a simple stereo install. Plans Engi…

Hi there...I'm very new to the corolla community since I last owned a Ke70 20 years ago. My question is I have chosen a ca18det engine for my conversion and looking at help into what rear end I should be looking at as I'm sure the standard wouldn't cope. Is there a straight bolt in diff axles and drums I can put in for a bit more more strength?would a carona diff fit and do the job?or and recommendations would be great... I will be putting a big brake upgrade on the front.

So it’s finally time and tomorrow morning I’m travelling to the goldy to pick up my Ke70 project. It’s currently in pieces and has already had rust cut out and fixed up so the first thing that I plan to do to it, is strip it fully and begin paintworks. As a tribute to my first ever car, I have decided to paint it green :O My dearly beloved Toyota Lexcen, bought for $50 off the back of a mates swamp and done up as a replica HSV SV5000 commo (but with SV89 body kit, go figure), was sadly written off after a very intimate encounter with a roo. So to revive some of my dearest memories I decided to paint my new Toyota in the same colour. Now, I …

Hello rolla fans, my name is Nick, i'm 30 years old and i'm from Greece. For few weeks now I'm proud owner of a Corolla KE70. Because i'm working full season I brought the car but I haven't see it or touch it yet (because i'm working in a island) so my best friend did all the papers etc and have it on his garage. The plan on this beauty going for Drift Project but for now i'm trying to fix it. Off topic : Because the rear wheels has more offset than the front I heard that you can add fenders from Golf MK1 is that true and if yes from the front or from the rear? Thanks Nick.

Hey everyone, though id do a build thread of my ke project, maybe get some advice along the way and get more involved in the community Building it for drift use only, not engineering it for roadworthy purposes Bought it fairly stock, had an s13 front suspension and coilovers and that was it First thing i did was remove the diff centre to weld, got it all welded up but unfortuantly broke on of the spacers between the diff bearing and the housing trying to get it back in Had a real hard time trying to find one to replace it, decided to buy a mates vl commodore that was in a front end crash for $100 for the read end, got the mounts welded onto it and went i…

Hey all, While i was on my way down to the local wreckers with a friend trying to buy car parts for his conformodore we drove past the local Ford specialist wreckers, and i spotted this in the corner of their yard. I Immediately made my mate turn back and abandon his parts mission as i had to go have a look at this car. something just wasnt right about that flat front in the yard... sure enough we asked to go have a look and when i got close enough i realised id found myself a genuine DX rolla! and judging by all the japanese writing all through the car, and the import plaque on the firewall its come from japan, as I'm was told the only other model that has the s…

Hi guys! Picked this little beauty up tuesday night. It's a standard 1981 KE70 panel van called Henry  I am the second owner! It has 250k on the clock but engine and gearbox were rebuilt about 80k ago. Drives well. It has a straight body but has a little rust in some areas. Interior needs a bit of work. I used to see this around my house a lot and one day, a few years ago, I pulled up next to it at the servo so I asked the bloke if he would sell, he said he wasn't selling yet but took my number anyway. Then recently, he and his wife contacted me saying they were looking to sell, so I went and had a look. So glad I did! Really nice people and was pleased with…
