Hello All! Just a quick note to everyone; id like to make a bit of an informal change around here, as to help everyone out. How many of you click the "View new posts" button, and out of 50 new posts or so, only end up clicking on about 3 or so out of that 50? I think its got alot to do with how people name there topics. Ill do a quick example or 2, from new topics atm. 4wd Rear Ender = makes me think a 4x4 has had a rear end crash = boring to me ;). Why not say "Rob's Ke55 - Rear end crash!!" ? Have You Seen One Of These Before?? = What, a text line ? :D - How about, "A Rare Toyota, Whats it called ?" - id be more incline to go "oooh whats …

taken off ausrotary. thought it was the best idea as id like to vent lol. what i hate the most, is the racial stereotypes in ths country. I hate being called a dirty leb or a wog or something of that nature. I'M AUSTRALIAN, i was born here i have a foriegn background, worst thing is I'm not even lebanese, I'm greek. but unfortunately I'm jsut thrown in with the others, who may not even be of that background but are still giving all of us a bad name. we are all considered terrorists. People who scab cigarettes and then bum puff them, those so called 'social smokers'. its the biggest waste of a perfectly good cigarette, i don't even understand it, do they do it …

  15. From the creator of the "Random Photo Thread" brings you the ... "OMG Guess What Happened Today" Thread. Similar like the bitching thread, this one focuses on amazing and lucky things that just happened to you. Like... Today I went to the Department Of Transport to change my engine number. I changed my 4K over to 5K probably around a year ago and since we might be taking my car on this road trip, I just wanted to be safe. As I pulled into a park, a man was pulling into the park next to mine. He was there to de-register his daughters old car. It just happends it is a 1981 Toyota Corolla. He said he hasn't been able to sell it but wanted to see it go to a good home.…

Despite decades of tyres getting bigger and wider, there is a new trend towards narrower tyres with a large diameter. The emerging trend towards skinnier tyres is being driven by a desire to reduce fuel use and carbon dioxide emissions. Tyre companies, including Michelin (pictured) are experimenting with taller, narrower rubber. "This is the new f…

OK, The Boss said we could discuss this here, as he cringes everytime I give the Govt a big, well-deserved slap in someone else's thread. Not that it will stop me doing that, but here we can argue without ruining someone's build topic. So, I'm an Anarcho-capitalist, an anarchist who believes in a free market. Maybe at a squeeze a Libertarian, they think there is a role for a Govt in protecting us from each other, but not from ourselves. First up, anarchy is a state of NO RULERS, not NO RULES! Many people who hear the term write it off as some wild place with people doing as they want. No, if you want a quick introduction, read this comic- and rea…

Found this while surfing the internet. 1974 During the second phase of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus on 14 August 1974 the Mesaoria plain was overrun by Turkish tanks and Famagusta bombed by Turkish aircraft. In two days the Turkish Army occupied the city, which had been completely evacuated by its Greek Cypriot population, who had fled into surrounding fields before the army's arrival. Most believed that once the initial violence calmed down they would be allowed to return. As a result of the Turkish airstrikes dozens of civilians died, including tourists. I know there is a couple of fellow-Aucklanders on here, so I figure its worth a try. I'm flying back to NZ for my mum's 90th birthday in Rotorua. Which means landing in AKL and hiring a car for two weeks or so. (there is ALWAYS work that needs doing on the house...) Sadly Mum 's birthday is April 1st, so this year the time will cover Easter, when I'm sure nearly everyone will be out in their pride 'n joy. Anyway, I couldn't see the point of paying $40/day to some car hire place when maybe someone had a handy rolla sitting around. Anything reliable will do, Starlet, K-series, Rona... Just make sure it comes with a full toolbox!

I've seen a BMX thread so I searched for a mountain bike thread and nothing came up so I'll start one. Years ago I rode enduro dirt bikes, I was winging to a mate about the costs of this and he invited me to come ride a DH bike as it's mainly a setup cost. Well I did ended up hooked sold the old dirt bike and the rest is history. Raced a couple of state race rounds which is fun and the DH community is very welcoming. I mainly ride the local trails 15min from home and mt buller when they are open. So here are details of my current ride(pics later tonight when I get to the laptop). Frame : 2003 Kona stab deluxe(could have a newer one but I like the way it rides). Fork…

All, Myself and two mates are taking part in the shitbox rally. 7 days from Melbourne to Cairns in a KE35 via Camerons corner in april. Yes, three grown lads in a '35 from bottom to the top in a week. We NEED donations (to the cancer council) as it is a 4 grand minimum. All donations over 2 bucks are tax deductible. The car is? My old hardtop. If you have a business and donate over 100 bucks you'll get a sticker on the beast. Please give. I'll post a heap of pics for shits and giggles that go with it. http://www.everydayhero.com.au/mike_and_the_mechanics Bamboo

Well, some of us like me don't mind showing a bit of pictures from a car accident. So maybe if anyone would like to share their stories and maybe pictures? I'll start with mine. Pretty much Skyline, R33. Going too fast and the driver had bald tryes. We took the corner 2nd from the top a little too fast and we eventually under steer straight into the safety rails. We walked away fine with just some bruises on my neck and stomach =]

Well I did a search, and all the numberplate topics I could find dedicated solely to numberplates were three or four years old. If the mods don't agree with this, then delete it. But anyway, I've been seeing some cool numberplates lately and I thought that this would be a cool place for people to tell us what numberplates they've seen or that they think would be cool. Anyway, here's some that I've seen lately: BUS73D (busted) (Honda Civic) BNS53X (BNS sex) (AU Falcon Ute) AWWYEH (Commodore Ute) GE11US (Subaru WRX) CHL03T (Chloe T.) (Morris 1100) KR01LN (KE70-from-mt-panorama's ke25) KR01LA (mybaby) Go nuts...!

So you might have noticed I haven't been around a whole lot lately. Or maybe you haven't and the mod team are just that ʞ©$ɟing good! (Yea it's probably that one) So uni and other ~things~ have kept me pretty busy and I just haven't had a lot of drive to be a part of the community and deal with development stuff. I've kept the server ticking over, loaded the site every now and then to make sure it still works and groaned at rollaclub related emails in my inbox. Over the summer break I might become a bit more active again, but that's likely to end as soon as uni goes back (plus work has a bunch of projects lined up for when I'm 'free'). I don…

What are you about to read? Where they any good? I've just finish a Charles Stross' "The Jennifer Morgue". Weird, demonological, and overall not a bad read. I would summorise the plot but I still can't work it out myself. Pegged for a re-read. Currently reading Nevil Shute "A town like Alice". An old favourite. I usually read this about once a year.
