A while back I proposed posting up a file of gaskets people could copy onto gasket paper or cork as applicable. Nothing seems to have happened with it, so I will put these up here. If applicable, mods may wish to relocate. I will add to it as I can. For example, I have an earlier T50 set somewhere too. Presumably since they are attached as pdf files, they should print out as actual size. Please feel free to add stuff you may have, but probably best not to clutter the thread with chat. 6. Hi Everyone, I own a KE10 and I'm at that point where I have decided to put a 4k engine into it. I'm treating this as my crash course in learning more about cars. As far as I have read through this wonderful site, it is supposed to be easy. Basically I would like to know everything I need to complete this conversion. I'm not interested in having a drift car or a super "fast" car. I just want something with the ability to make it up hills and be zippy while commuting between work and weekend events. As it stands, I have a 1967, KE10, 1.1L, 4 speed manual. I don't have much of an issue with the 4 speed. However if there is a better 5 speed option to go with …

So really guys just after some numbers for the 2.. i was told the 4AGE has a bigger head my question is by how much also how much dif are the intake and outtake Ports by diameter if any 1 knows would be great help Not sure if i shud reco my 4AF Block and bore out the Chamber / Intake / exhuast ports. Does anyone have any sort of blueprint i could go off of to build my mounts? I can weld and stuff but on mounts i want a proven idea...no use in reinventing what's already here you know?

I was also told that I can switch the engine to an electrical fuel injection conversion. Is that possible? Are there ready to fit packages? Thanks.

I'm looking to have my distributor re-curved. It's a stock 4KC dizzy in good working order. Engine currently features a Weber 38/38, carb base plate port matched for carb adapters and intake manifold carb opening. The dizzy is electronic but features a vacuum advance and retard. I am using the big port intake manifold--it's been cleaned up on both ends. I am also using a set of extractors. As it's sit now--is it worth it to re-curve the dizzy's timing advance? When I add my performance camshaft and reworked cylinder head? I'm still under the assumption that Toyota ignition systems work just fine for most application. So, it seems like just re-curvi…

  15. Hi, just picked up a 78 rolla 2dr sedan deluxe. I have never owned one and was in the market for a cool older car like this to tinker and have fun with. The car is in good shape. The previous owner though did his own suspension job to include cutting the front springs to drop it and put blocks in the rear. I have heard this can be done and doesnt hurt anything. My question is what can i do to make the ride-ability better? It bounces a good bit and is pretty rough at times on bumps. Are there coilovers i can get and what and where from. Also what about the rear with the blocks, is this good or can something be done with the leafsprings?? I look forward to hearing wh…

  16. I am working with Non-Stop Tuning (NST)--the leading maker of lightweight pulleys in the USA. They've agreed to develop lightweight crank, water pump, and alternator pulleys for the 3K/4K engines. We'll be switching from the v-belt design to a serpentine style belt system. There's a huge range of colors and at the moment the complete set is running $300 US. The price may seem a little high but where else can you get these? NST is really doing us a favor by agreeing to take on such a small project. Several other companies that approached turned me away. So, bottom line--if you are interested post here and let NST know! I was driving my ke30 around in a paddock earlier and, well, I have already decided I want more power. I know the 4age is the most popular swap for a ke70, but I don't know about the ke30. Can you guys give me some ideas and the pros and cons of some engines? Thanks

Hey guys I'm leigh,I'm attempting to re-build a 4k turbo injected motor. The motor had standard head bolts in it but they stretched under boost and blew the head gasket. I have been searching for a metal head gasket as the standard seems to blow at 10psi. Does anybody know where I find a metal head gasket? Also has anybody had any luck getting ARP head bolts/studs? They don't stock a kit but ive heard of people using arp bolts in 4ks. Any help would be great. Cheers Leigh

Gentlemen, I'm hoping some brains can help me out with where to look. I have a late AE82 Twin Cam Seca which has an electrical problem. When hooked up I get no dash lights and it doesn't turn over. I don't think the starter solenoid even clunks. Battery voltage is reasonable. I can find 12V at the coil and most of the spots I've tried on the fuse/relay box in the engine bay seem to have power. All fuses are OK. The EFI fuse was blown in the engine bay, but has been replaced. The fuses in the driver's kick panel are OK too. Any particular spots I should check to expedite the process? I've got some wiring diagrams downloaded which I will follow thr…

Have had this theory for a while now.... Most rev-limiters work by cutting power to the coil temporarly. A convention change over relay can be used to 2 main ways: To power something when triggered, or to cut power to something when triggered. This is as simple as wiring the item to be powered to pin 87a rather than 87. So......by doing this you can easily cut the power from your coil when triggered. Next bit is the trigger!!! Many tacho's are avaiable with shift lights, and these can come on at basically any desired RPM. By patching into the wires for the shift light, you can get a your relay trigger at any RPM! This is easy with any conventional 12v bulb, b…

LOVE my new lsd other than the above. I can lift off the throttle to get it to turn in better, but there are corners i could take better if i could reduce the understeer. Current thoughts are camber, toe out and maybe rca for low springs.

For example, Ke20 struts in ke10 add positive camber due to the spindle being different angle to ke10.. 33. I've got a set of Ae86 struts that have been converted into coilovers but I'm not happy with the quality. Essentially I want to replace the cut and welded stock tube with a new not-welded tube with a nice new gland nut thread cut in the top (threads damaged currently). The strut tube doesn't appear to be welded to spindle casting, so I was wondering if anyone had tried removing it with a bit of heat. I'd like to know before I go ripping the suspension out of my car preferably. Thanks

Motor has had abit of work done to it, twin webber carbs, I'm thinking possible head work, extractors and which looks like 2inch or 2.25inch exhaust system. So basically my problem is my mate bought it with rego and has since let It run out of rego and it now needs a blueslip, problem is I'm unsure if it needs an engineers ce…

I have only had it a few days and have noticed that there is a vibration when at a cruising speed in any gear... There is also what i would describe as a pop noise when accelerating from from a constant cruising speed... example of the vibration would be if cruising along in say third gear with no real load on the engine and then putting your foot down steadily. It can be felt through the whole car... Doesnt feel like a wheel balance/alignment issue... I was thinking maybe engine mounts??? Also the previous owner smoked like a chimney and now the car smells as you woul…

However I have come across a series 1 T18 diff that I can buy but being series 1 doesn't have the sway bar mounts on the diff etc. I was looking to grab more information on what is required to fit the Series 1 Diff complete with swaybar and just to confirm that the series 2 will be a bolt in swap.
