Here's a small introduction to what's resulted in countless hours, days, weeks, months, years of hard work, tears & dollars spent. The year is 2004, I acquired a Toyota Corolla from one of my friends, Nick. The vehicle had been stripped out with the engine bay painted, sitting beside a colossal pile of parts. Due to lack of time and a few others things, I acquired the old girl on her journey towards a better life. Its an Australian Delivered, 1982 KE70 Sedan owned previously by a Family from the south side of Brizzy. Maybe the 2nd owner? 3rd? who knows. If any of you have seen the Rusty Relics thread on ausrotary you would have seen a lot of old, tied and very rusty Mazda’s. Well I thought id start a thread on rollaclub for the same reason except this one will be about Corollas and other Toyotas. I have about 87 MB of Mazda Rusty Relics and only 4 MB of Toyotas so I hope others can contribute. I know most Corollas aren’t that desirable except for the TE27 and a few others but a lot of other models are real collector’s items. Very similar to Mazda’s. I hope to go on a road trip later this year once my KE25 is done and find all the hidden treasure in the bush. Mainly going to find old Mazdas but also early KE Corol…

The brakes are finally on the car!!! Now all that is left to do to finish the brake system is to make the lines to hook up the master cylinder... Mmm, big brakes :D More photos on my photo page

Hey All I'm Jason ! I live around the corner from Teddy, and for a while now i have been researching to what car i would like. I have seen Teddy's car go through a transformation, and its rubbed of onto me !! I have had a chat with teddy, but i would like some more info on a few things if thats possible. I have been saving for a long time now, and i have a limit of $8000 - to include the car, rego, blue plate stuff.. etc. I know teddy has a Ke70, but he said i need an Ae71 to make things simple when it comes to putting a 4age motor into the car. Yes, I've finally pulled my finger out, and Bluey is on the hoist at Chateau de Wayno's. It rolled in at 1400hrs yesterday, and work started half a stubbie later. Engine and box are out, interior out, body deadener out (mostly), and a certain amount of body ugliness found. New front left guard and valence panel sourced (thanks Fook!). Ladies and Gentlemen... I bought this potential beast up for $300 and it drives, it has a 5 speed in it and it is the same build year as my birth year! (1981) Needless to say I can't wait to start on it. It's a KE55 Corolla CS It has a couple of rust spots on replaceable parts... but my main work is on the rear windscreen. It has rust spots in the bottom corners, which is common on the Corollas, as are underneath the taillights. But that's nothing the angle grinder and a can of bog won't fix :thumbsup: The body is pretty much straight. It's a 4K-C motor (but not for long!). My 2T-B engine is seriously leaking oil, about 1 litre a day, the starter is dead, and many other problems so I've decided to move all the parts from the ae86 ( 170hp 4age, big front brakes, coilovers suspension, hydraulic handbrake, rear axle with limited slip and rollcage if it fits ) so therefore I have some questions that might already been answered, but I couldn't find it. ae86 parts, ke70 car engine, front suspension, steering components, crossmember = bolt on gearbox and gearbox crossmember = bolt on tailshaft = bolt on or does it need to be shortened? rear axle = bolt on fuel tank with built-in pump = same size, so I'll guess it will fit? anyone done th…

ok, boys....just bought a 1982 TE72 2 dr sedan 3TC, t50, factory air. it's been sitting 4 years; i put a battery in it, turned the key, and it fired right up. it runs on 3 cylinders, but the compression is good....160-170 on all cylinders. it smokes some until it warms up, the carpet is ruined from the clutch master cylinder leaking, the carb is plugged up. my plan is to lower it 2", do the exhaust (no muffler on it now) weber, extractor, fix the a/c. i LOVE the way david's car turned out....fook's too. the whit with a black hood looks awesome. pics when i get them $250usd. *edit* oh yeah....his name is "Bubba"

well thought it was about time i posted some details of my new project.... AW11 MR2 its an 86 n/a version thats had an ae92 bigport (9.4:1) engine fitted with aw11 s/c gear. still runs the stock box which has closer ratios than the s/c box so with the extra power from the compression and the closer ratios, this thing leaves stock superchargers for dead :) am awaiting TRD shocks from japan, then there will be TRD springs. also water to air intercooler and a l/h vent for pod filter intake. the sound deadnign has been removed and with the loud exhaust, i keep imagining I'm in a group B car :)

Hey There People I'm new here. Just thought i'd tell you of my project i'm undertaking. I have sucessfully fitted a 4-AC backed with a T-50 gearbox, custom tailshaft, shortened shifter into my KE55 corolla that has a partially completed KE30 exterior. I like to call it my AE35 cos the running gear is out of an AE86 Aus-spec. I still have to mod the clutch pedal to suit the hydraulic system and source a few connectors off an AE82 for the temp sensor, oil light and i also have to relocate the coil as it sits on the wrong side of the engine bay. Only problem i do have at the moment is i can only get the car to start by jumping a wire on the starter motor …

hey fellas ... I am in possession of 1 x 1974 KE30 2-door sedan, the 20,000th KE30 produced too :D The car has a small amount of rust in engine bay, that will be taken care of shortly. The car will be painted XR6 orange via a workshop where i know a guy ;) I have a j-spec mazda B6T engine that i plan to transplant into her, using an MX5 gearbox (since the motor was east-west from FWD tx3). These motors were rated at 115kw stock i believe. I have a Galant VR4 rally-spec intercooler to use (courtesy of Andrew whom which i swapped a set of mags & sideskirts for), with a slightly larger than stock turbo (from the BPT; 1.8L turbo tx3's/familias). Hey, I've started accumulating the bits and pieces for my turbo 5K. The plan is to use my 5K block, bore it out 0.5 - 1.5mm. Use some 78 internal, 81 - 82 exteranl, cast steel sleeves in the bores. I scored 4 rb20det pistons with 80k on em for 20 bucks! So that should work nice with some brass inserts to connects the rods. The pistons are 3.2 mm shorter than a 5K unit so I'm gonna deck the block 1mm and shave the head 1mm too, and use a 1mm copper head gasket with a double O-ring. I'll reconfigure the head a bit too. It should be about 1.4 L and 7.5 - 7.8 : 1 compression ratio after that. I plan not to rev it too hard so I'm gonna stick with standard 5K rods…

Well, after a few image differing modifications, the ke36 wagon was left as a daily driver.... Now, after a stupid - FULY SIK SKID! unfortunately the engine is on its way out.... :D Time for the little girl to be stripped back to a bare shell, and treated to what it deserves! :D Upcoming: - Rust Repairs - Full Clean & Inspect + New Paint! - New Mags 15 x 7 Front - 15 x 8 Rear - New Engine! :bash: TOUGH 5K Stay Tuned....... :D

Well. for those of you that wanted to know what happened to the ae71 that 1984 cs-x rolla was selling due to being written off. well the engine and gearbox and all the other lil bits are sitting in my engine bay now YAY.. I'm surpirsed. after breaking my roof at home, drilling my firewall cutting myself many times, and having little mechanical experience..... IT ALL WORKED... anyways jsut thought i would let you guys no in case you were wondering pics will come soon when i get camera.

I bought the ke30 2dr in September 2004 transported it on a trailer to my garage and left it. It sat untouched until in May this year I finally got my lazy ass out to the garage and started having a look at what I could do. It needed a whole new interior but I figured an engine refresh was the first thing to do so that at least I could drive it around while I slowly fixed the interior. So I stripped it down to the block, had the cam reground, obtained a 3k head as it had a 4k head on it :D as has been documented elsewhere on this site. Meticulously cleaned the head and reseated the valves, obtained a inlet manifold due to the existing one being cracked, cleaned …

I have been working on my ke35 coupe for around 5 years now.......and I am almost at the stage where it needs a paint job. Any budding painters out there who would like to earn a few bob? Or perhaps a recommendation from someone who has a place in mind? Anything under $1,000 will be greatly appreciated.

my mate has a AE71 rolla that is stock. we are doing some suspension work to it and we got thinking. he just so happens to have some ford ba 6 cyl injectors, a audi tt coupe turbo and efi running gear lying around. we were thinking of throwing it all together with hawk comp that he can get a hold of very easily and cheep. any ideas other than the wiring mess and decomp. how do you recon the 4ac will hold up? cheers
