Got a ride you want to show off? This is the place to post them.

  1. Started by Bos55,

After six months of hunting for a project car I have finally got one. My plan is to restore this car to a presentable condition which I like the look and feel of. This will be my second car so it will be built in order to enjoy the experience of driving it. I have limited experience working on cars but have managed to pick up some skills and knowledge through my studies. I am an undergrad Mechanical engineering student in the fourth year of my degree. I have read plenty of threads on this page and I think its fantastic that everyone is willing to help each other out and pass on experience. I would really appreciate all the guidance and one day when I've made all…

Hey Guys, have been on this site for ages but lost my old login. Anyway, thought I'd might as well contribute and post up something about my Rollas. I had an AE82 twinky hatch for about 5 years as a daily. Loved it, but it was pretty rough. Look good from afar, but was far from good. Anyway, time came that I needed a new daily driver, and for cheap. I had intended on dragging the old twinky from mum and dads backyard. I figured that it would at least need 4 new tyres and 4 shocks. So I was up for at least a grand to get it back on the road. But then, searching gumtree I found another. Exactly the same model, but about 100,000 ks younger. Plus it had power-stee…

So currently residing in my home country of South Africa for a while. Of course my current demographic area will change the options of classic cars compared to Aus. But Corollas , this place has plenty ! The great thing about finding/hunting for classic cars in this country is that we have large cities inland very far from the sea's salty breeze and humidity. That is where this story beginnings in a city called Pietermaritzburg. I posted an ad on our local Gumtree looking for Corollas,Datsuns,Cressidas and boy was i offered some nice stuff, 1200Gx, Mx32's, and many many Ke70/71s but one stood out, A Red Ke70 , 1 owner from new , and paper work and I mean ALL …

So I have recently began prospecting Tijuana Mexico for some classic Japanese cars. I live in San Diego and now am looking into importing cars from Mexico mostly interested in Datsun, Toyota and some Honda. I began to network with some car heads down south and have come to meet a group that meets frequently. The cars are not the best but I hope to befriend many of these guys in hopes of buying their cars from them and bringing them to CA. Here are two cars in which I came across today August 8th, 2015. I am also looking into how to export these shells or rolling chassis to other countries perhaps Europe.

Hey guys, thought id share with you a project I've been working on for the past 3 years. It all started when i turned 14. All i focused on at that point was that i could get my driving license in less than one year. So at the time my old man thought it'd be a good idea for me to get my first car and do it up a little in time to get my learners. And also get to know further about cars etc. So i hoped on trade me and started my quest for my first car. I looked at multiple options as my first car starting at honda civic's (yes i know, wtf was i thinking???) right through to Subaru impreza's. After not having much luck in finding a cheapy, as only having an after school job…

Hi guys, I've had this for a while now and i thought it was about time i do some more work on it.. I originally had an immaculate T-18 which i only owned for 6 months due to my brother writing off! *Spewin* ;) I then bought this KE30 4door, it was rough as guts but after i lost my pride and joy i had no money, and as a struggling first year apprentice i had to make do.. I proceeded to pull out the engine and 5speed, seats and a few other bits and pieces from the T-18 before cutting the whole lot up with a 9inch angle grinder and taking the rest to the tip! I was surprised how easy it was to fit the 3T motor and box into the KE30 though. (i didn't know about r…

You've all seen it before in the other thread but I thought I would post it here so I could update it as the car progresses. For those who don't know, this car was bought for $250 off ebay. It started life as a lowly KE70 S trim povo pack. It was powered by a completly standard 4K in front of a 3 speed auto. Not very exciting at all. Here are some pics of when I bought it. It wasnt long (about 10 days) before I got bored of driving around with an ashmatic 4K and a slipping automatic transmission barely keeping up with traffic and getting bored to tears with not owning a manual car anymore. It was time to pull the running gear which used to reside in…

I don't post often but thought it time I share some latest pics As some of you would have seen previously, I have a ke30 2door sedan with a 3k, worked head, lightened flywheel, EFI (7ke manifold), Megasquirt, distributorless ignition (EDIS), etc etc. It even has a catalytic converter. I have now added an AMR500 supercharger, which is originally from a 930cc twincharged Nissan March Superturbo. I fitted it to the engine using custom brackets, which I knocked up on a spare block in my shed. This was the easy bit! The pulley on the S/C was changed from serpentine to a v-belt type from a corolla alternator. My crank pulley already had a too…

After a bit of searching and looking on these forums every day, i finally found a decent car to house my supercharged 4K. I have had the motor going in my KE38 but running it with 2 different carbys and not really ever getting it to run properly, i recently purchased a 7K efi manifold so that i ca get it running to its full potential. The motor is a KE70 4K that i fully rebuilt with new 40thou pistons, all new bearings, fully reco head with double valve springs, fairly aggresive camshaft that made pretty good power when the car was N/A. I have fitted a SC12 supercharger that is pumping 6psi but that may increase when i get the motor running properly on the efi. …

INTRO Hi. The other day I scored a cheap as pretty neat condition KE15 and a few have been asking about it so I decided to start my ride thread for its journey from back shed to the road and beyond. The car was purchased off an old guy who lived close to me and he could no longer drive so had no use for it and sold it. He was part way through restoring it as he wanted to drive it again and he was the original owner which made it all the better. Over the cars history from what he told me he: Killed a dog in it. His daughter used it to learn in and be a daily. He liked doing a few races in it. Blew up an original K-B motor. As he got old it was to fast for him so …

Hey, thought i'd upload some pics of a project that i've started. I bought the car from a mate for $400 and it didn't start when i first went to pick it up cause of a dodgey starter motor, they got it rebuilt and started first turn of the key. Had some exhaust noise and economy wasn't that great, so about 30 bucks later it was running sweet. During the whole time though it had an oil leak or leaks, so i thought i'd pull it apart and do a gasket and seal change, and also do a auto to manual conversion. Picture shows some damage to the door, the previous owner's daughter left the door open and it rolled into a tree :) , but 1 hour and a block n tackle all fixed :…
