hi guys, bought myself a fairly tidy ke20 with a t50 4age conversion. has rust in the usual places but nothing too serious running stock brakes and diff. have decided that i want the project to be a little more ballzy than the 4age so am going to put a ca18det in instead, due to the stronger gearbox, easy power upgrades and cost and ease of finding parts. have the car stripped right back at the moment doing bodywork ready for a respray. will be converting to ae86 coilovers in the front with and a shortened r31 diff up back. going to keep the interior as stock as possible .

Hi Guys, Have just started fixing this up so I'll keep updating as i go. All the good stuff done by previous owners, 20v silver top head, GZE bottom end, GT35r Turbo, Mr2 gearbox, custom driveshafts, intercooler and intake, Haltech E6K, etc... theres probably still a write up on it on here from the guy that built it. Anyway, its been sitting for a while so i've started working on the maintenance bits to make it streetable and reliable again. Crashed an EP82 last year so I'm stealing bits from that. The front struts were shagged but with little gentle pursuasion, the ep82 struts, which were less than 12 months old, fitted up nicely. The battery was …

Hi everyone, this is my first project build car. I have a ae102r corolla which I have done work on, but never done a build to this extent. A mate of mine traded a case of corona's for this car off some guy wanting to get rid of it. It had been sitting in a locked garage for 3 years with no rego and prior to that only been driven around locally. He was the original owner and bought it new from the Toyota dealership. It has 145,000km on the clock which I'm pretty happy with. I ended up buying this car off my mate for a few hundred which was the price for the replaced door and guard which he had purchased to fix the damaged ones on the car. The engine is staying stoc…

Hey guys, I'm new here but I thought I'd share with you in detail the build I have been doing over the last month and a bit. My names Jarrad, I'm 19 and in Melbourne. I got to uni, studying industrial design and I managed to cram this into my holidays just over. Here she is as I got her. A very tidy example with a few needed rust repairs in the usual places. It's done a few km's and needed a new diff. Apart from that - spick and span. Owned by a car-detailer that sold it because he got a AE86. Prior to him it was owned by a Toyota mechanic. First step for me was to start hacking up the rust. I stripped it completely and made up some panels to w…

I bought this ke11 of a fellow rollaclub member late 2012. I had all the hard stuff done conversion wise so I thought why not! So I'm not going to strip her bit buy bit and rebuild it to get it to where I'm happy. Currently setup it's got; 4agte T25g s13 turbo Ross forged pistons Gze rods Acl bearings Arp head studs and main studs Plans are; Make body and interior look dead stock Body back to bare metal, repair rust Rebuild motor Cams and valve train Bigger turbo Bigger injectors New ecu Hilux diff Brakes Coilovers…

I bought a CA18det powered KE20 from a rollaclub member before christmas, although well engineered the condition of the body and paint was sub par, have spent the last month or so fixing dents, changing panels and sanding, last couple of nights have been a bit more interesting as i am up to blocking back and buffing stage. I am making this car a bit of a clone to my other KE20, PHATKE20s hooked me up with some corona rims and it will be running some 14" whitewall nankang tires with dress rims and centre caps etc. Need to convert to 4x114.3 pcd for this to happen. Interior should clean up ok, after i have finished buffing and its all back together i need to pull the e…

Recently aquired this gem from albury nsw sight unseen and drove it all the way home (ballarat Victoria) without it skipping a beat and went about getting it up to road worthy spec and making it my own. And then after getting it road worthy fitted some reset leafs I had acquired and some choppies till I get my corona struts sorted and chucked on a set of ssr formula stars I had holding up my ke25 Next on the list of things to do is swap out the terrible standard vinyl seats for some velour ma61 items and mod the sump on this sucker and chuck her in

So.... I picked up this old girl a couple days ago, 1984 KE70, 90,000km on the clock with a years rego for $500! She's pretty tidy but didn't make the 2 hour drive home without breaking down hah. She hasn't been driven in well over six months because grandma died and the family didn't want to touch her. Basically from what I can gather she just needs a new thermostat and battery at this stage and I need to figure out why shes idling so low despite winding it up so until I figure that out I'm neutral d-dropping from sets of lights haha.. SO MUCH LOVE! (And yes, I am female for those of you wondering)

I am deadset farken hopeless. I lasted maybe a month before I bought another car to go club racing lol.. Saw this on ebay a few months ago and was keen but the timing was poor, however its popped up again this week so I snapped it up. It does officially break the "only three toy cars" rule at home, but I think its cheapness has let me sneak it in. The basics are its a 1986? (I will have to check that) Ae82 Corolla Twin Cam hatch. Someone clearly loved it and spent a lot of money on it at some point in its life. Has 20 valve conversion, reportedly done by Toyrolla Spares. Its very neat from the brief look I have had over it. Painted Ford Blueprint blue…

Hi all. I thought it was about time to start a Rolla Club Technical Build. My name is Paul and my car is a 1971 ke20. It is a budget race car, but a lot of fun. We had a good year in2009 winning my class, [sports Sedan up to 1600cc] and my youngest son winning Junior Hill climb Champion, at our club [Gippsland Car Club]. So I decided to give the old car a bit of a tidy up. My son Dave is an apprentice panel beater, so his job is the body while I will concentrate on the mechanical side. The car ran a 2T for 2009 but having 3 X 2TG motors in the shed at home I thought that would be the way to go. That’s where the drama’s started. I chose a 2tgeu block and crank with an 82…

Hi, Just wanted to show you my KE10, it's in Malta (EU) and is a 4-door version. I own the car for 3 years now and currently respraying it. When I bought the KE10 it was in reasonable condition but sprayed 3-4 times over the original paint, causing some strange effects over the years. I am the second owner of the car.

Hey guys, been a while since I've kicked around here. Have moved to slightly bigger chassis than the old KE's, although I still have my 7K KE25 sitting in the shed. Here's the new whip. 1992 GLX MX83 Cressida. Part GLX and part Grande interior, Grande 3.9 LSD, Camry GXP 17" wheels. Also, replacing the stinky old 7MGE head gasket muncher is this little package, Standard 1JZ from a Z30 Soarer, running standard twins, JZX81 ECU and JZX81 auto with a MV autos stage 1 shift kit. Went really well and pushed 160rwkw. So standard twins and 160rwkw was alright, did a decent skid and all... Then a little combo popped up on eBay, so I made it mine. Gar…

yet another find for me out in the sticks :) I saw this car advertised on a local facebook sales page earlier in the year for $500, and after not being able to find the page again assumed it had been sold. long story short the supposed buyer wasn't interested in doing any repairs after inspecting it (has a few patches of rust) so the owner pmd me and offered it to me for $150 because she was moving overseas and needed it gone, so I'm the new proud owner :) its a 1977 ke30 4 door auto, rust in usual places, interior is half shagged, smells of mice and old people, but it runs and drives......but doesn't stop as the brakes need work :/ so far I have stripped the interior, cl…

Hey guys I was driving home from uni last night in my ke70 with 4k and I noticed my oil light was on and my oil pressure was at zero, as my revs rose I could hear a loud tapping/rattling noise from my engine, and a strong smell, I went to the servo and bought some oil, when I opened my bonnet i could see white smoke puffing out of the breather, and also when i opened the cap there was white smoke coming out, i filled it with oil although it was dripping out from somewhere on the inlet side, ive taken a look and think it might be the head gasket, what else could it be? the coolant looks darkish like a black colour, if it was a head gasket would it be making that loud …

After looking around for a cheap daily for a while this popped up. AE82 4 door sedan running a stock but cleaned up 4AC to 3 speed auto. Some random wheels with king springs all round (found the receipt for $360!). I'm giving a budget build a bit of a crack with this one - I picked her up for $200, bargain. The paint is great, interior and motor need a little love, but it runs and drives. Happy with the purchase all in all. Running tally (will be updated as time goes on. Car: -$200 Change in car: +13.35 Total: $186.65

Thought I'd better start a new topic instead of posting too many times in the KE2* Members thread. So here's the new rolla. I always wanted a te27 and will have one some day  but thought this might make a neat replica in the meantime. Genuine 50 something thousand miles on the clock. Have the books showing original delivery date and owner's details. Services at 1000 miles, 6000, 12,000, 30,000, etc. Funny to see the books and read the service dates- all long before I was born. Photos speak for themselves I spose.

Hi everyone, I've started browsing Rollaclub a lot more lately due to me now owning a K motor powered car again. I have a duplciate thread on Toymods so I'm just going to cut and paste what I am maintaining there :) If anybody would like close up pictures in better resolution, information or anything just ask and I will be happy to help where I can. I originally purchased this 1983 Starlet in November of last year (2012) and it took some time to get it into the country because of the slackers who were processing my import approval. Finally last week I picked my car up from the quarantine lot and have been working on the compliance side of things so that I can get…

after a few weeks of pulling my hair out trying to get my car down from sydney, it finally arrived yesterday. its a ke26 panel van, mostly standard body wise, running a 13bt from a series 4 rx7. getting stuck into it this weekend, hoping to hav the motor/box out so i can start stripping it to get painted. basically replacing everything on the car, to an extent. getting the motor rebuilt, just bought a larger turbo for it, gonna get it bridge ported etc. its running an R31 diff in it atm which should handle the power for a little while, so i won't be touching that much. its running standard r31 disc brakes at the rear, and ke55 disc brakes at the front with ke55 struts. de…

I Recently bought a good condition ke70 Panel Van off of Queen20v. Its a 1290 cc 4k-c with a 4sp manual. Its fun and easy to drive. Paint is in very good condition apart from under the petrol cap - This will be resprayed soon. Engine runs well but need to replace uni joints as there is a knock. I put some simmons V4's on it the other day but unfortunately they are too wide at the front. So i am on the lookout for some japanese rims. Where can i get a hold on some jap wheels? Mainly second hand stuff? or is there places in adelaide? Not much else to say. I put a bed in the back and slept in it last night. It's rad! but the morning sun isn't :yak: Th…

I picked up a 1974 TE-27. I was searching for a first gen celica and missed out on a crazy good deal for a 76, but I am glad I did because I found this one. Some people call these mangos. The guy was super cool about selling me the car. He wouldn't sell the car to anyone. He told me how he denied the sale to other people that were not Toyota or JC enthusiast. Its an auto. 2tc. 4:10 diff. I will have to do some rust repair in the front due to the battery leaking, and a some minimal rust spots around the car. It runs, but needs fuel system cleaned. Needs brake work etc. etc. Its a project. Pics! enjoy:

This is an in car camera of me driving in my 1973 TE-27 Levin that has a full bridgeport engine in it. This was the 7th JCCS held yearly at Long Beach California. There were close to 400 pre 1975 Japanese cars in attendance and about 200 more in the parking lot that did not make the registration deadline. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ias2CPTbXUo -Big Mike

When I was 17, I bought this as my first car. Paid $600 for it from a mate, spent alot of time and money getting her roadworthy and it was my daily for just over a year until I snapped a valve spring. I replaced the offending spring, but in the process, I discovered that the entire engine is full of crap. No idea how it was still running. It lasted a couple weeks after that until I snapped another spring. Couldn't find a full set of springs at any wreckers so I gave up and parked her in a shed. Engine still starts and it can be driven on and off of a trailer, but I really don't think the engine is worth saving. Running stock 1.5L 2R with 4speed. Drums all round needi…

hi all, ive been hunting parts for a while here on rollaclub and have had heaps of help from alot of you for which i am very greatfull, i thought it was about time i put a little bit about my project on here for you guys and girls to read about. it started off as me wanting to have a cool little granny spec rolla, nothing special, just really schmik! but finding one like that is hard nowadays as I'm sure you all know.... so i looked around and found myself a four hundred dollar "unfinished project". little did i know just how "unfinished" i was!! rust everywhere that i could not see when i looked at it initially, and plenty of little bits missing here and there.…

Hey guys, Just thought I'd share my pride and joy with you! I bought this KE70 from a bloke through Ebay in Sunbury. It was one of the straightest KE70's I had seen, so I HAD to have it! I paid $1500, it was a bit pricey but I don't regret it in the slightest. It's beige in colour with 2 thin brown and orange stripes up the sides of the car. It's running a 4k completely stock 4 speed manual. I just recently got a full sports exhaust fitted just this weekend, extractors and 2" whole way through, sounds HEAPS better then what it did. I also chucked on a set of 14" Watanabee rims, sprayed black suit the car quite well. My future plans for it are to get the engin…

I bought this coupe AE70 in November 2007 for just over a grand. I have put a couple of pics up, keep in mind these are very old pics that I took in November '07 when I bought the car, and its not what it looks like at the moment. I'll get some fresh pics up soon. I actually have two of these, One of them ive been using as the donor car, which I have pinched a couple of panels and interior bits and peices from. It sat in the garage for about 8 months after I bought it (not running) So I started to get serious about it in July and I've slowly been working away at the panels since then. It's getting painted satin black, going for an old school rat rod sort …

Hi Everyone, I have always been a big fan of the AE92 sedan with the Black Bumpers, my dad owned one when i was a little boy back in the early 1990's and the car grew on me since... i recently bought one and i may have been stung by the mod bug..my every fortnight when i get paid i start to hunt for parts.. so anyway here's the car when i bought it: (i apologise about picture size) the very 1st thing that i did was change the Dash equipment, the car didnt have a tachometer, so i sourced one from the wreckers and swapped it, of couse i took the speedometer apart and trasferred the original Kms here it is fitted with the tachometer. i have also removed…
