A while back I proposed posting up a file of gaskets people could copy onto gasket paper or cork as applicable. Nothing seems to have happened with it, so I will put these up here. If applicable, mods may wish to relocate. I will add to it as I can. For example, I have an earlier T50 set somewhere too. Presumably since they are attached as pdf files, they should print out as actual size. Please feel free to add stuff you may have, but probably best not to clutter the thread with chat. Just doing some research for my next drift beast project. It will involve the most insane 4A-GTE you will ever see :S (dead serious too) It will be a track only car so it won't be registered for road use (That will be for my MZ20 Soarer :wootjump: ) anyways I was wondering if it is possible to fit a 20v 4A-GE head onto a 4A-GZE bottom end? Thanks for your help. I will keep you guys posted as to the progress of this project. It probably won't be in action till the end of the year (well the engine bit, the car body modifying will be but) Thanks

hey all, iv got a 5k with 32/36 weber? ( i think ) tighe 25/65 cam 10:1 compression premium 98 fuel i got it all back together today, and it was running fine for about an hour, i turned if off, to put a stronger spring on the throttle return, and didnt like it so i put the old one on again.. started it up, and then all of a sudden it just wouldnt idle.. it kept stalling.. so i turned the throttle up, and it will idle at around 1200+rpm, but if i slow it down to about 800-1000 it runs for about 5sec, then gets real rough and stalls.. is this because of: carby needing to be tuned? timing is wrong? or my dizzy needs to be adjusted? video of …

Hi all Is there many people out there who have fitted 17in wheels on a ke-70? Ive managed to do it, and love the look, but just wondering how many "modifications" youve had to make. Me and my brother had to go to town with an angle grinder and hammer haha. Anyway. some pics (if they work): Cheers, Jordan.

I can spend about $200 more on this car without the wife knowing that I'm spending way too much on the car...........so I was thinking either extractors or head work on the mighty 3K. I'm getting the cam reground as we speak for $75 at crow cams so thats all done however using the search function I read several posts that suggest that with a cam in the engine I really need to have extractors. So since I was planning on cleaning up the head myself anyway I figured extractors are the go. So I ring up a couple of places here in Melb and nearly fell of my chair when I'm quoted between $550 and $630 for extractors with a 2" pipe. I thought this was a bit excessive so I…

Have had this theory for a while now.... Most rev-limiters work by cutting power to the coil temporarly. A convention change over relay can be used to 2 main ways: To power something when triggered, or to cut power to something when triggered. This is as simple as wiring the item to be powered to pin 87a rather than 87. So......by doing this you can easily cut the power from your coil when triggered. Next bit is the trigger!!! Many tacho's are avaiable with shift lights, and these can come on at basically any desired RPM. By patching into the wires for the shift light, you can get a your relay trigger at any RPM! This is easy with any conventional 12v bulb, b…

Hey all Well, a popular question that every 1 asks (ive asked it) is "what can i do 2 my motor to make it fast". I'm not going to ask that, most of u know by now my views on my 4k :) - Anwyay this is my question. What can you do to a motor to get better fuel consumtion out of it? i know the basics such as don't drive it hard, (not that i do), don't rev it (that either) etc. Now, another part to this question is slightly differnt, i was talking to ben about it, and a bit to med_man yesterday, but what would u recomend if i said "i want a bit more power for going up hills from my stock 4k" - ben has said "longer intake runners". Does any 1 else have somthing to…

Was speaking to the fabricator today and looking at all his Speedway bits (he does speedway), and got to talking about how much it would cost to make a manifold to bolt on 20v 4AGE quad throttle bodies. Or to get a set of his custom made slide throttles... Anyways, no real figures were discussed as he needed to think about it, but he did suggest something that apparently is quite common among the V8 boys, which he recons would be easier and cheaper to set up, esp considering how much the 20v quad throttle bodies actually go for. His suggestion was to make a pair of plenums, and get another standard throttle body (or off some other car, apparently the Ford Falcon …

Heres the latest cock-up with the 5k. One of the exhaust lifters is noisy. I've adjusted all the exhaust lifters to 0.012" while its warm. But there is always one noisey exhaust lifter. I've adjusted numerous times on the compression stroke ans so on. I have had the engine running with the rocker cover off and put a feeler gauge under the tappet, which stopped the noise. It had no more clearance than the other lifters - but then i ran the motor and when i turned the motor off, the clearance on the exhaust lifter was about 1mm. I don't want to adjust the lifter again incase something is wrong. At the moment, its the engine builders fault - I'm not in a hurry to m…

Ive been here for... what.. too long now, and ive gotten to know most of you pretty dam well. Somethings have caught my ears and eyes latelly.. well not so much latelly, but here goes anway. Most of us here, the regulars, have corollas - new / old / stock / not stock / rusty / K powered.. what ever it may be. Do you own a corolla becase you like them? because you can't afford anything else? because of toyota's reliability?.. and why do you like your corolla? I like my ke70, because of its unique shape, its reliable factor, the ability to get new parts for it.. well.. most of the time, its simialiries with the drifto Ae86 parts.. etc. Edit by me -> its R…

Andrew, I promised you I would post you a picture of the 5K engine, to show you how clean it is now ! To fill you all in. This engine came from a KE55 that had been done up by someone, unknown. A 5K & K50 g/box had been added and the interior done up. Anyway the cancer set in, and the car was doomed to be a "paddock basher" in a large orchard near Caloundra, where it was used to "get around" the orchard, on muddy tracks. When Andrew & I saw it, it had grass inside the car (growing I think) and you have never seen such a dirty engine. The car had more cancer that the Qld Health system, and there was only one place for the body. Back to Japan, …

hey fellas, i was thinking of upgrading later on in the year, after i set up the car a little better (eg. suspension, brakes, rims) and i was thinking of putting an RB20 in....i know its Nissan and you'll tell me to piss off to NS haha, but i was wondering if you recon it could be done, problems i will face (other than the fact that a motor conversion is generally difficult, plus i realise crossing manufacturers can be suicide) but i was just wondering about any OTHER issues with a Ke70 in general motor conversion, as I'm sure even troubles occur when it comes to 4AGE's and stuff being put in the rollas. cheers

With me only being 15 and the new laws in nsw saying that i couldn't drive around in a modified car, my dad suggested that i put a dohc head on my 4k, seeing as most other brands of engines can swap heads eg. subaru 2.5l with 2l and ford 1.8l and 2l heads i was wondering if there were a toyota head with dohc that would bolt straight up, without too many modifications. i was hoping that a 4age head would bolt up seing as they're relitivly cheap in comparison and would be easier to find max

Where can you purchase solid lifters for the 5k engine? Does the engine ever come out with standard fuel injection??? I have heard that few 5k engine actually have solid lifters stock, not the hydrolic lifters! Is this true? If so, How can you tell??? ( I'm new to this stuff ) :D thanks to All. ROLLAS 4EVA

OK so I've had a problem for a while that my battery runs flat really easily. I was listening to my stereo for like 20 minutes when I waxed my car thisarv, so when I go to start her up she's flat as a tack........ no worries, got a jump start, headed off. Ran alright for a while but then the lights started going dim. So I pull into a side street and let it idle for 10 minutes or so.... pull off and the problem is still just as bad, and after a minute I couldn't even rev the engine without the lights off!! Ran without lights on, trying to get home, but then she won't even run with the lights off entirely and I broke down and had to call mum for a jumpstart again. …

Gentlemen, I'm hoping some brains can help me out with where to look. I have a late AE82 Twin Cam Seca which has an electrical problem. When hooked up I get no dash lights and it doesn't turn over. I don't think the starter solenoid even clunks. Battery voltage is reasonable. I can find 12V at the coil and most of the spots I've tried on the fuse/relay box in the engine bay seem to have power. All fuses are OK. The EFI fuse was blown in the engine bay, but has been replaced. The fuses in the driver's kick panel are OK too. Any particular spots I should check to expedite the process? I've got some wiring diagrams downloaded which I will follow thr…

Hey. With some encouragement from the boys on the last WA cruise, I'm thinking about cutting the stock springs on my KE70. Just wondering what peoples experiences are with doing this... good.. bad.. advantages.. disadvantages. It won't be an extremely low height (will be a legal height), but my car sits quite high so I'll be dropping it a bit. Cheers.

Hey guys now this is porbly a old question and belive me when i say i have done my research, What makes a 4AGE so much better then a 4AFE Apart from the next Generation twin Cam... So really guys just after some numbers for the 2.. i was told the 4AGE has a bigger head my question is by how much also how much dif are the intake and outtake Ports by diameter if any 1 knows would be great help Not sure if i shud reco my 4AF Block and bore out the Chamber / Intake / exhuast ports. After seeing some of the Dyno results and Numbers i have seen, i'm really starting to think the 4AGE is not much better at all comparaed 2 the 4AFE.. The 4A-FE 113 hp (84 kW) @ 5800 rpm…
